These are Hot Rods
These are Street Machines
This is a Muscle Car.
Not very hard to work out the differences.

in 40 years time will petrol still be available? or will these muscle cars of bygone eras become furniture? imho i dont see the point in owning a $XX,XXX,XXX GT HO in 40 years time when all you can do is look at it... but thats me... im sure there are people who would be happy to do so

A 13B is roughly 3 litres if i remember correctly, as a 20B is 6 litres and is almost double a 13B in size. It would be great, as the more revs it does, the better the boost on a blower.
Brett are u sure about that... that doesnt sound right to me.
Im almost certain a 12a is 1200cc, 13b is 1300cc, and 20b is 2000cc. please someone correct me if Im wrong as I dont like recycling bullsh1t.
I think you might be right...
Mazda's 13B is a two-rotor engine with combustion chambers of roughly 0.65 liters. At 100% volumetric efficiency, 0.65 liter per rotor face * 3 faces per rotor * 2 rotors gives a total displacement of 3.9 liters. It takes 3 rotations of the eccentric shaft to complete one engine cycle, however. In 2 rotations of the eccentric shaft, comparable to 2 crankshaft rotations on a 4-stroke piston engine, the 13B would displace 2.6 liters. Mazda advertises the 13B as a 1.3 liter engine, which is the volume displaced during a single rotation of the eccentric shaft.
I read just yesterday where someone said the 20B = 6 litres. Well I suppose if you worked it out as above, it would be, but that may be incorrect.
Just found some more info, seems to be 10A is 1 litre, 12a is 1.2 litre, 13b is 1.3 litre and 20b is a 2 litre equivalent.
But when compared to a piston engine you need to double the litres.
eg: a 20B is equivalent to a 4 litre V8.
Interesting

theres that supercharged rotary on the dyno
was just cruisin youtube and saw it, thought you boys might be interested in it...
The best explanation is that the term is a contraction of "hot roadster"
so unless a dunnydoor monaro torana falcon or whatever is classed as a roadster???? hehe chances are quite low
The Hot Rod era extended from 1930 to the beginning of the muscle car era (about 1965)
according to this article 289 is correct????
you have the hot roadsters (hot rods) model t, model a, 32 34 fords
you have muscle cars, camaro's mustangs
you hsave sports car, early lambo's ferrari's vette's
you have super cars, countach, f40 and the like
you have lux cars, RR, merc, bmw's
you have jap crap ricelines wrx's
ifyou think any car designed to go faster is a hot rod, take out a new wrx with exhaust and upped boost to a hot rod show, and put a sign on it, sign here if this is a hot rod....
you'll get nothing
I work with the guys that own and built the black '34 3 window coupe that's featured in the current street machine and they have also got an award winning 34 roadster. So i thought who better to ask than guys that have actually built some of the best cars in Australia, true?
They too said that the proper meaning of "hot rod" is any car that is modified to go faster etc. Therefore, if you follow that meaning, any car that is modified that certain way can be classed as a "hot rod".
Ah well, i guess those guys are wrong as well.
You're correct with what you say in your sig TWO89, everyone is a professional on the internet
