Nice to see you got a thread up Brett. I finaly know whats been done to your car now, haha. I hate hearing about these amazing deals when im never around to take advantage of them !! well done mate, you should be really proud of your car. I cant imagine you would ever want to sell that thing .... I wouldnt curious, what was your mph when it ran 14.1 ? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Adrian, I am quite proud of it... once this engine is done thats pretty much the driveline how I want it... the paint and panel work is definately not up to scratch. Day time and photos it looks alright but its not great at night... the previous owner painted it but gave it no panel work... its fairly straight but not very good. Id still like to do that one day. When it ran the 14.1 it was on 195 or 205 rear tyres... I couldnt stall it up or give it anything in first gear or it would turn the tyres. My 60 foot times were 2.2s!! I found out the following day that a lead had popped off too.. so it was only running on 7 cylinders. It ran right on 100mph from memory. To be honest it probably had a mid 13 in it with good tyres... fairly lazy motor that last one. Had potential but it needed an ignition system (had no advance as it was broken) and had a tiny tiny cam with huge heads... so it just wasnt set up correctly. This new one will be though Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Still mate it was a great effort. Im pretty stoked about the car even if it only ran the time on 7 cylinders + crap tyres. The paing may not be the best but its clean. 100 mph isnt to bad at all, for a lazy engine. Ill def give credit where its due. Your not after a pro st 8 sec screamer, just a clean mean streater .. and you got it. Congrats !!! Well done brett

Had a call from the engine builder. Engine is a short motor now. Heads have been trial fitted a few times to measure up all the clearances. We're getting somewhere slowly.

Well it should do 450hp pretty easily... if it makes 480 ill be happy but we're aiming for 500hp. So ill be happy either way but ill be absolutely stoked if its up near 500!

Hey brett where u getting it dyno run ? i assume ur meaning engine dyno not in the car ? Looks like it will reel off a nice number (can an engine "look" like its fast??) haha Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Its getting engine dynoed at Dandy Engines. It doesnt look fast at the moment. Once its run in on the dyno theyre going to lean on it a bit... it should perform well. If it does 460-480hp Ill be happy... but we're hoping for more Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Engine got run in on the dyno today... made 470hp, 435ft-lb which is pretty spot on to what we thought it would do. That was with a holley 830 carb. We tried the 950 pro systems carb but that didnt make any more power and with the $1000 higher price tag its a good thing! Oh it made that power at 6500rpm too. Torque was starting to nose over so it didnt get pushed any harder. No real point thrashing the ring out of it. So all in all this is going to be a great little street engine! Nah im dying to get it in. Just chasing up a convertor for it... and the engine shop is doing me a ripper deal on the 830 annular holley too I was planning to try to get some done on the long weekend but the convertor will probably take a week or so. TCE convertor is on its way... slightly large... 5100-5200rpm. They assure me that once its in the car with some cold air through the scoop ill be able to turn it pretty hard. This is getting exciting Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
