Im for both forced and naturally aspirated, its a preference really and im yet to play with some forced in my own shed, but that will come one day. But i think the problem is and take for example the TTls1's, they claim a certain amount of power and its a decent claim, but doable with the kit they are running, yet ive lined them up and left them standing with there pants down, now if they were making this claimed power then they should be sitting beside me if not pulling away, and its funny how most of them want to do rolling 80k runs, where any donkey can accelerate off! Also another thing is its ok to build these low budget boost engines that are making a good 500+hp, but its another issue to get them to hook up, and have a drive line to hold up to the power/torque there pushing. More power you want the more you need to spend in every aspect of the driveline.

The ls1 kits make power, no doubt about it, but like the XR6's they weigh a stupid amount of weight. If you trap 130mph in "full street trim" most will struggle to keep up, even from a 80km roll. Horsepower wise, if you build a 500-600hp atmo motor you still have to build a gearbox and diff, so i see no difference there, except if you did the turbo stuff yourself, there would be more money left over to do it. 500-600hp cars aren't cheap either way, just theres many ways to achieve it. cheers darren

wow way to open a can of worms! Without getting into arguements I'll simply say this. Until you've been through it personally and done it, you can't comment or know how expensive and how hard it is to either build and drive an N/A or Turbo V8. I will tell you 1 thing, to do it right, regardless of how much power you are chasing, is expensive. And yes I do know what I'm talking about as I've been through it all and still going through it. One on the left is N/A, one on the right is twin turbo. Never seen a workshop in its life. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
