Can't really say yet as I haven't put the lid on yet coz it's off the road anyway. The lid is just a flat piece of steel (will have a hole cutout of it and a sheet of perspex glued on for the bling factor ), and it just has a sheet of thin rubber around the edges to seal it off. I have a feeling the rubber as a seal is no good though (might have to use a bead of silicone), as i have had the lid resting in place (not bolted down), and the car still smells of fuel (tho not nearly as bad as it does with the lid off), and all my fuel breather hoses have been replaced. The braided hoses go thru a hole in the floor, which i have bolted (and siliconed) an alloy flange to, so that it connects to the flange on the front of the big alloy box via a piece of flexible hose of some sort (i have a feeling the vapours leak a bit thru that too) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I used to have issues with my old setup (surge, normal rubber fuel lines, brass fittings etc) but since then have upgraded the whole fuel system, and even bought all the pumps into the boot area. I used 400 series fittings and aeroquip hose and sealed off the openings into the backseat area. Never smells of fuel in the cabin anymore, just a fair bit more noise now from the pumps... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

There are a couple of options.. Teflon based hose or Stainless/Aluminium Hardline. This will eliminate fuel smell in the boot. Both are available from me. For you NZ'ders I will post to NZ but the exchange is probably killing you at the moment.

If you are running twin pumps the outlet for the 2nd pump obviously goes next to the other Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Cheers anthony Na I'm pretty sure those things there are fuel dampers, used to smooth out the flow of the fuel, sort of similar to how a capacitor works in electrical systems (used to lessen the effect of spikes/surges). As far as I know its up to you whether you keep them or not, I'm not sure how effective they really are.

Heres my setup 2 044's and a carter black lift pump the cab or boot have never smelt like fuel, i took all of the drain plugs out of the boot to help airate it and it seemed to work. Im in the process of making a carpeted box to cover the setup and hopefully make it quieter, coz yes its LOUD Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
