dude 1 of the most important things these pricks are going to be looking for is the engine number... hide it under a lil bit of dirt and im pretty sure they would sacrifise their afternoon cleaning it down... just to bust ya chops.

if they see stock turbo motor in there they wont go over board, and as someone said before its hard to see and reach with Std turbo, especialy when its hot down there....

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ take her for a long drive crusin on boost for about 5mins and then let them fiddle around the turbo area LOL so do you have a turbo motor setup to go in ? and i was serious about the we sould all put in and share the motor around for EPA test's and TMU inspections let me know what your gonig to do mate cause if your going to go buy alot of stuff to convert it to N/A or stock turbo i could be intrested in gonig halfs with you in all the part's as long as i can use them when needed i have no probs with you keep'n them at your or what eva, let me know.

Just change exhaust manifold, exhaust and inlet manifold, even just the plenum to N/N all the numbers will match just be slow, but quite. Make sure the afm plug is tripped to stall the motor if they un plug the bugger if you have aftermarket engine managment. Dog bones in the springs from pedders, fresh tyres if yours are low, clean up underneath if there are some little leaks, remember if you have to take it there they will more than likely get you for a roady no matter what you do, avoid epa at all costs though. I had to get a new parcel shelf welded in cause the cut out for the speakers was to big, pain in the butt, but the girl at vic roads had no idea. Also got out of a full check at vic roads cause it had to go on the trailer because of the roady report, told the guy it wasnt comming off cause it fell off when we were putting it on, funny thing is it did actually fall off. Could try to find out what time he finishs his shift and rock up 10 mins before hand, thats always a good trick.

If you put a n/a motor in, the engine number doesn't matter, just need a receipt for where it came from. Don't go changing numbers at VIC ROADS. I'd leave cooler, catch can etc in. If its not plumbed up wat can they do? My mate passed a epa like this theres nothing illegal about it. You can laugh in there face. Hiding engine numbers is crap theres 2 sets stamped on a vl engine, if you take another vlc they'll find out the engine number isn't registered to your rego and u'll be busted!

^^^LOL thats gold i luv it "so what's the cooler and catch can doing with nothing connected" " cause it looks sic MR.officer, why els would i be here?, its all show no go mate." " dont bull**** me mate " "nah seroiusly mate people see the car a go it's got a cooler sic bro & and a catch can WOW". and as for that engine number thing when your right next to the place pull over get a glove, get some dog **** smear it all over the numbers.

All you have to say is that you use catch can, cooler etc for wen you race at calder, tell them you em u changed engines the day before cos it broke and you havnt been down to vic roads yet. simple.

just take it down, and yeah, if ur gonna screw them around with a changed engine, "blown motor" broken bonnet cable (they CAN tell you that u cant move the car because of that, i.e there is a underbonnet fire, the fire brigade wont be able to open it) they WILL screw you around, with more fines, more things to fix and all, they dont like smartarses

ok guys, quick update got out of it very very lucky.. last friday nite, got pulled over and defected just near my house by local cops ( they dont know much) and got done for too low, tyres and pod. the cop even asked what the plenum was, and i explained looks aswell as throttlebody position, but still has all standard emisions conected. then i called hastings and said i was already defected do u still want to see my car, he goes he will check i was defected then if i was he said no point because when he saw me he saw that it was too low and thats y he wanted to pull me ova.... so now i got a RWC and just had to fix 3 minor things.....easy as.... Cheers PS: thanx for input along the way.
