I have run agianst NA lancers before - and he had me untill i shifted into second - they get us with P2W ratio - because they are much lighter car - besides - most N/As with an exhaust would only be putting about 90 or so KW at the wheels - where as some lancers would be putting out around that or even more with a lighter body
I wouldnt be to upset if you did get betten - remember - its only an N/A VL - not a missle - it wont beat most things on the street anyway!
With extractors and exhaust and manually shifting the auto you should have flogged the lancer. You do learn how to find the sweet spots in your auto and know how much throttle to give it and when to shift, surprisingly its not as simple and stick it in drive and put your foot to the floor.
You can get up to 70 kays quite easily in first. But of course your only getting up to the speed limit arent you. Im not condoning racing or speeding of any kind.
Beleive it or not Ive beaten VY's and VZ V6's cause they all just stick it in drive and go for it theyre not getting it moving as fast as they have the potential for.

nah in all seriousness im not suprised that you got chopped mate. As a lot of people have said here, autos have a certain way they have to be driven to go fast. Stall her up on launching is a good one; but this can damage your torque converter.
My R31 at the moment is running advanced timing, 6 - 3- 1 extractors, 2.5in press bent zorst, "hi flow" cat, cold air intake with feed from the front bar, and about 300,000kms on everything else. It still chops a lot, and keeps up with echotech's, lancers arent a problem at all... with a bit of work NA rb30's go pretty hard. Hell, find a R31 GTS1 cam (or gts2 cam + GTS chipped ECU) to go with the gear ive got, and you can make around 140-150hp at the treads (with a little bit of luck aswell and a few less k's).
Fact is tho, the auto box will hold you back heaps. Mine is shocking, its starting to let go now, good thing theres a rb25 manual waiting to go in when everything is all good and ready...

when i went ot the drags . i raced a lancer. dont be ashamed to be beat by one man. for 1 n/a auto vl's are slow as puss. standard lancer's with exhaust run 16's man and whats a n/a auto run. like 17's or some shyt. when i ran mine against a lancer he said he had something like 170hp at the wheels or some shyt and ran 17.1 .
although lancers seem like a slow car they keep up with n/a autos
Hey dude, just a thought, Have you checked your Timing??
VL N/A is supposed to be 15 degrees advanced. Check that out. and maybe advance it a little more.
If you got good fuel, maybe push it too about 19 degrees advanced. But It will put more stress on your engine.
Oh and maybe service your Auto too. about 50 bucks for the kit from Supercheap lad.
I wouldnt be admitting I got beat by a Lnacer neither.
Oh and I dont beleive a n/a Vl beat a R33 GTST either. He was clearly giving you a ego trip, or he really cannot drive for ****.

ive raced an r33 gts-t with my car back when my auto was slipping. i beat em all the time (im talking basicly stock r33''s, i dont kno what was in them), but there isnt much between them. I get munched by gen3's with the car in the same condition.
so if my car had a little trouble beating these cars, good luck to u N/A boys talking it up :/
lastely with the lancer, they aint bad cars. but by the sounds of it u dont know how to drive your car
pretty sure a gtst would do faster than a 15 stock, i mean doesn't a vlt do a 15 stock? And the 33 gtst is newer, has more power, as well as rev's harder and has a much better rear end setup?

It's just a Lancer afterall and street racing proves nothing what so ever.
Besides N/A VLs are NOT fast cars anyway and being a Auto, would've been a huge let down.
If the situation was reversed and you had a 5 Speed and the Lancer was a Auto, the results would be different.

hmmm maybe. i got a 5 spd with extractors and pod. havent beaten this lancer auto with extractors as yet. we dragged and i was winning but went from 2nd to 5th and lost by a bit which is know is hell gay but it happened. ill let u know when we do a proper drag.
