I guess everyone wants to be cool with gauges on the bonnet, to each their own. But if you really think they are the right place to be, why dont we see Pro Stockers/Top Doorslammers with gauges plastered outside of the car? All the gauges are in the car, in front of the driver. The same can be done to a VL as well. As i said, there is no need to have them outside. So if a 6 second Pro Stock/Doorslammer manages to have the gauges inside the car, im pretty sure a 12sec VL can manage as well.

as far as fashion goes, i think gauges are one of the few tasteful modifications one can make to the appearance of a vl, the others being mags, venetions, good paint, lowering and a cooler sticking out the bottom of the far.. i like the look of them however have never ran them on the hood myself, if i ever did i'd be first to admit they are there because i like the way they look.

A 6 second slammer dosnt do fully sick laps and need to be cool, unlike my 13 second VL. i think they look good so i put there out there. I will admit that but they also servo a perpus.

and a 6 sec doorslammer isnt in danger of injuring every day pedestrians and other public vehicles. i like the way they look on the bonnet. ease of instalation. and ease of view, does there need to be any more better reasoning? some ppl were just never cool so they cant bare to make there car cooler then them selves, hence the reason sleeper was invented Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

just as EZ said, that prefiral vision.... you gotta remember, 6 second doorslammers arnt the safest things, ours has a little piece of alloy pop rivited next to the drivers leg, stopping the trans if anything happens. these are purpose built racing cars that dont comply with roadworthy rules (for some reason) they comply with ANDRA rules when you succesfully register a doorslammer on the road, ill start putthing mechanical guages inside my car its like comparing a dingy to the QE2 guages must be outside if they are mechanical, a light starts flashing you look to your sunglass holder to see whats wrong....you take your eyes completely off the road, a fluro orange needel goes far to the right (or left for oil press) you look at it, but can still see the road, brakes come on infront ofu, u can see the red flash, if your looking nearly at your feet, you cant see brake lights for 2 seconds later

More gauges I say............ Most purpose built cars (race cars) have as few as possible. But hey you guys know best. And 10 gauges on or in a car dosen't look gay.....Hang on yeah it dose. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
