11-06-06, 22:09 GMT+10#62 I parked mine up yesterday morning at 8.30am, and it was still there at 3.30 this arvo. The car is nothing too flash, no alarms, no killswitch - nothing. I guess it all depends on the area in which you live. Up here in Mackay I can go out, park the car up in the middle of town and not have a care in the world. One thing which does come to mind is insurance - if you guys are so worried, get it insured! Granted, my car has only 3rd party property damage cover, but up here there is an option for fire and theft. It is great, $172pa and it is covered in case anything like that should happen....

think id rather loose a car and get it back with insurance than be copping it in jail for the next 30 years.lol
security is time...thats it. remember theres nothing that cant be bypassed.
if they want it that badly then they are going to get it at somestage.

the wafers inside the locks are made from brass,
instead of getting all new locks, take them out and take them into a Locksmiths, they will rebuild the whole inside of the lock like it was brand new.
stops any other key opening it on you. and its not expensive, especially if you take them out yourself

Pretty much the same here. I went to the movies the other night with my mrs and parked the car round the back in the big carpark for the first time. I must of sweated 2 tonnes of sweat in the movies worrying about my car.
Unless you want your car stolen, keyed, shopping trollied you just cannot park them anyway out of sight.

That's not quite what I was thinking when they stole mine with no headlights, no battery and dizzy disconected.
I mean, quikvl is right - if they want it, they will take it.
In order to get mine they would have had to tow it. And that would have been at like somewhere between 12AM and 7AM. I mean, come on wtf? Was more thinking "How the...!?"

11-07-07, 16:50 GMT+10#79 Im lucky i live in the bush, unless they really love my car, i highly doubt it will get stolen! But the other side is, my BF lives in Balga ( to any1 else who doesnt live in WA, its the worst place u can think of ) With my white vl exec i made him push his back fence down so i could park it in the back yard and then get him to park it in, And now with the Calais i have, man, i dont sleep when im at his place, any sound im out the back in my undies and baseball bat! LOL. I stress that much when i go shopping, i ask the security guards if i can park it in the disabled or pram or staff parking and if he can keep a good eye on it... and i have all the security system, but so many VLs NA or non NA;s get flogged, u can never be to sure.
