well you would have thought it would have blown up well before since the car had not had anything different done to it since. if it wasnt put together propoerly it wouldnt have lasted this long. 8 yrs is not bad at all for a standard spec engine i would have thought, espcially when it was making in excess of approx 450fwhp how was the cam grind wrong i wonder ??

that may be the case but it still doesnt answer how a camshaft/camshaft profile can damage a bore ?

man, the thing was a bodge job, not only the engine, but lots of other things aswell. bolts missing in the head, lifters, ect. anyway like has been said, its being built and tuned by real professionals this time around, so never mind, she will be out on the track very shortly

But have you found out exactly what caused it too blow? you've mentioned the plenum, wrong cam grind, wrong tune, missing bolts etc. Which one was the cause of it running lean and stuffing the bearing and two pistons?

Not really sure what all the fuss is about, Trent is getting the engine done by the best in the business so needless to say....bring on the 10 second passes! we will finally get to see RB-3747 Piloted down the strip!

yeah, those plenums do weird and wonderful things! not to worry, will be soon replaced with a Rajab Racing item. alan has assured me 10's so we will see how it goes once she hits the track. and shauno, not long champ!

i was just asking for clarification of the so called problem, that's all, no need to get all touchy and defensive, it is just for the general information of the forum.

each to their own i suppose. its all good trent i having nothing against you i was just trying to find out what actually happened. people tend to take things the wrong way when its written. im not here to try and stir up sh1t like others, something the forum doesn't need.
