17-02-06, 14:49 GMT+10#61 This thread comes up once a year and all the turbo boys have a crack at the N/A boys.
Deano, your car is my benchmark! I know of the car and I will (oneday) beat it. I know it'll cost and it'd be cheaper to go a turbo. but where's the fun in that. Rovers car is a piece of work. It's nothin to look at but thats half the fun. I bet the xr6 boys have shat themselves a few times.
And yes I've been in some very quick turbos and much quicker V8's.

i believe it would.
A) the setup of my car was different 3 years ago.
B) The conditions on the day were pointless for racing, only good for fun and getting in a lot of runs (because no one will get decent times in that weather, so they dont bother going)
C) by changing the camshaft from a smaller one to larger it will not only give you a small increase in power, it will move the rev range up to some thing you can use down a track, instead of regular driving.
The reason why i dont change it is because i get wicked fuel economy, even when i open it up.

I'll just let you think that
Just to let you know, I ran 14.2 in September at willowbank, middle of day at around 40 degrees & I ran 14.3 in December at WSID, middle of day at around 45+ degress. Both runs were on a lower hp tune (<180rwhp) to compensate for the hot weather And your trying to say that you'll crack a 13 with just a change of the cam cause your car did 15.1 on a hot day rofl

Nothings wrong with the above setup, but you would hardly call it a street setup running 25psi in tyres and a spool.

When you drag race, you take advantage of the conditions so a street setup would not suitable. You have a lot to learn!!
If you think you could get a 13sec. pass from "your street setup" & by adding a camshaft alone, you're only kidding yourself

Noidz what sort of specs do these quick 202's have?
Sorry haven't been back into this one for a while, I have seen one setup that was running a 650 Holley and direct port nitrous injection, I raced it on the 1/8 mile and it flogged the ass off me, can't remember what time it got but he said it runs 11's on the 1/4. Basically the 202's will need a massive custom grind cam and ALOT of headwork, porting and larger valves etc. And if your gonna want that much power out of it you then need to strengthen the bottom end aswell and that can be costly. I've given up on mine because the VL will always be faster and in the long run probably cheaper aswell.

23-02-06, 16:54 GMT+10#74 one run was at 93mph and the other was at 95mph also had 2 at 91mph, ****ed if i know what that is in km/h. Whats that got to do with anything.
I couldnt give a **** what my car does on the strip, i wanna know what i can do on the road because thats where i do 99.9% of my driving. But i am curious.
I will run it very soon for you then, just a matter of when i get time.
Good on you for getting a 13.8, now try and get a good time around a track, thats where the skill is!

23-02-06, 21:46 GMT+10#75 I did 88MPH on a 16.1 run... Less than 10 kays quicker and you gain a whole second... hmmmmm

93mph & 95mph is very good mph for an NA but with 110rwkw & a 15.1sec. pass, I dont think so The 91mph is more likely your best mph In comparison, my runs at WSID in December (14.3's) were run at 93-94mph
Btw, 13.9 not 13.8

Obviously the time slips lie. I'm only going by what it says on the slip, if you want proof you need only ask.
And considering that i have more power now and a better setup compared to back then i dont think it would be impossible to break into the low-high 14sec barrier (in street trim).
Any one in vic wanna go for a cruise with me and a couple of mates let me know.
Btw: Were you on speedweek some time ago

02-03-06, 13:04 GMT+10#78 haha 13 sec pass you cant scrape 1 sec off with a cam dude, and if you wanna go buy a cam then you have 2 buy a new computer and **** once you got that you still ****ed, your gonna have to run it on the dyno for a good 2hrs just to tune the thing, then find out how much you got to spend when it wont make you that much faster, whats your 110 kw n/a vl got done to it ??
