Maybe we all better go back to running n/a hey? How is Nitrous forced induction? Can you explain to me how it FORCES AIR into the intake? I think it's a little like cheating also, you can go buy a bottle, hook it all up, retard your timing and your off running decent times. But as Antho has said, a turbo and supercharger run off the momentum of your engine, meaning that there's no other energy being produced from anything bar the engine, unlike nitrous. Removed last bit as I'm not sure.

If it were forced induction and the same as turbocharged and supercharged cars it wouldn't have it's own class in drag racing "Nitrous Assist." goto www.andra.com.au (http://www.andra.com.au) and show me where the sepetate class for nitrous is please. maybe down there you guys have a seperate class for gas but we dont. i thought every drag meet australia wide falls under andra regulations so if ya can show me the class ill stand corrected

Haddads Hq, i don't think it was as mild as it was made out, and they used to say it ran on pump fuel which was bull**** aswell, it sure has a funny smell and white exhaust tips for premium . Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

"nah we dont have a seperate class, its in Aspirated Class along with superchargers and turbochargers." It's really hard to put across what I mean. They're all Aspirated, but I'm damn sure that at willowbank I've seen Aspirated/Nitrous assist. Not it's own class but sub-division kinda thing. I'll shut up for now though as I'm not completely sure. But I still think nitrous is cheating Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

im sorry.. to build a 10 sec car for 11 grand... no chance in history.. you couldnt build a 600hp engine for under 9k + box, diff.. i dunno if it was going to be 11k on an engine, even 11k wouldnt be enough for the engine..

a good 400 cuber built by fenech or AN rancing to run a 10 in a 1500kg car is not cheap, im talking 15 - 17k NA not blown 600hp+, for a blown package i was looking at 21k.700hp+ for a 540 cuber package na i was looking at 19k and blown i was up for 24 - 26k. 790hp+ and these seem to be going rates for chev builds, im assuming holdens are even more expensive to build as the chev engine is the cheapest to slap together...i am putting the big block in a 1960 chev belair weighing 1800kg+ and i am semi confident of a mid to high 10.. but the entire driveline has been strengthened.. so 11k isnt realistic im sorry, not in my opinion anyway.. but if you can get away with it for that much then full credit to you!! good luck with it anyway

Ive done the engine for 11k, new bottom end, good rods, stroker, good pistons, heads, rockers, cam, all machine works, turbo manifolds, turbo, gates etc, would be under 11k, car owes me just under 20k, and will run 10's with ease on lowish boost. but, that said, ive done all the work myself Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah the main problem is that you want to do it in a hq!youll either have to go big block or gas on a small block,or put around 18 grand into a n/a small block, but then you really wont have streetability.theirs a guy i know with a hq four door hq and he has poored around 32 grand into his engine and has gone a best of 10.5!350 chev,14.5 compression, roller cam, alloy heads,methanol,6500 converter!the motor was built by russell jones race engines on the goldcoast and anyone who knows a bit about drag racing will know how good russell jones is at building motors!so i reckon go the bb crate motor at least youll have a bit more streetability and should do a high 11,throw 100 of gas on it and your laughing.all the best.
