it all depends what the plans are, if its 300rwkw and thats it and you are tired of spending money, std is fine, but if you want to go further, or make the 300rwkw with less boost/strain on the engine, its money well spent. it worked on my car making between 250rwkw and 270rwkw.

no offence man but your trying to sell plenums. the reality is you just dont need a plenum at intermediate power levels. a lot of young kids read this stuff and they need to know the facts about what can be achieved with what parts. if its an all out build from scratch and you have big plans a plenum is definately a good idea, but for some kid to totally reconfigure his setup just to put on a plenum because he has a misguided belief that its gonna make a sh!tload more power is a damn shame. cause we both know the money is better spent elsewhere. once again dont take this to heart like some people on here do,this is discussion remember

dont worry no offence taken duz. what i said, can be said for any aftermarket plenum to a certain extent. i know what you mean, but i am just saying from my results, before i even starting selling these plenums, well over 2 years ago, that there is power to be made with one. like you said, money can be spent in other areas to make the power, around 300rwkw, but sometimes it is how easily you make the power which is all the more impressive and we know that jet girl & jet r31 take the cake for that at the moment (stock rods and cast pistons)

duz360 - totally agree there Although for even mid range builds 350rwkw stock IMO still fine. I made 369rwkw in my 100% stock top end RB25... that means NO cams, NO porting, no nothing, so its definately not "required"... and i wouldnt call my setup at all un-responsive or anything. I was totally happy with it Might have been nice to have one, but i had a budget and cant justify $1500 for something which might make little difference at the end of the day. I wasnt at a stage where every kw counted as 350 is a walk in the park these days RB25 fine for 350rwkw IMO if i did it, and i know that many GTR's here in melb over 400rwkw and people still try to flog the fact you need a plenum... when you dont... given the RB26 one isnt like RB30/25 that we are talking about here Kinda no answering the question, but for the first two power targets listed i'd stay stock and spend the $$$ elsewhere Quote: Originally Posted by Sinister anyone done any back to back testing??? id be interested to see if a manifold swap made any difference on anything less than 400hp or so, torque especially. To really do it, you'd need to tune and stuff to get the most out of it, making it almost redundant IMO as the car was in two different states of tune. Also going from a stock item to a front facing one you are changing the dynamics of the car, IE the length of the piping. IMO back to back results with a plenum are extremely hard to gauge. Remember the majorly larger chamber size is going to offset the cooler piping lenth reduction in a street/mild strip application. Different if your cranking 500kw with huge boost and need to cram more air in with a big cam'd motor etc.

Just out of interest,if anyone noticed this, on the JD plenum the map sensor reading doesn't fluctuate all over the joint,it's steady but tuning tht Brescaini plenum the map sensor goes all over the place through the mid range like there is a lot of turbulence in the manifold, i know this is common, it does this in our rolla, anyone know why and what it means?, anyone know what the Rajab one is like on the map sensor reading? airflow is the strangest thing, if anyone reads the american forums even they are struggling with there mega hp cars to understand manifolds and boosted air flow cheers darren

thank you cortina-m for that answer to my question hope things go well with you shop just a quick thought the MAP sensor bit " anyone noticed this, on the JD plenum the map sensor reading doesn't fluctuate all over the joint,it's steady but tuning " i would be plumbing into say several pionts and tapping into say a junction of all the spots and lead back to the map sensor that way u have a average of negative and positive manifold pressure readings action on the map sensor would give a more stable reading i seen it done a flow bench cya
