It defiantely won't hit the chassis rail, or at least I sure as sh1t hope not, the outside pipes sit closer than Cols pipes and don't go any lower. The only 2 things I was wondering about were the PS bracket and the room for the dump pipe, I like to keep it big enough for 4", even if you don't use it. Let me know how you go. Mounting the gate off the housing is the best method of boost control, and also the best for HP, the air only has to slightly change direction to exit the gate, and also causes the least turbulence, which is teh big killer with having one in your manifold. I would do my best to convince everyone to do it, but some people are just scared to cut up a housing, which is fair enough, but I offer to fit the wastegate to the turbine housing as part of the cost of a manifold as I would have to put the outlet in anyway, the look pretty trick and arr tig welded. Have never had 1 crack after much vigorous use Thanks Tweek. Cheers............................6BOOST Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i think most peoples problem with that(including mine) is the fact that if you ever want to swap housings, move the turbo(swap manifolds) or sell the turbo having the gate on the rear housing is very undesirable

Whats the rough cost to get a new housing? If it's only a couple of hundred then I'd consider it to be relatively inexpensive compared with the general cost of playing with modified cars.

Ball bearing housings are dear, yes, but I look at it like this: I believe my manifolds to be as good as anything available in terms of hp, and should match almost anything for spool. The quality is excellent, and they are made from heavy wall steam pipe, so they aren't going to be falling apart anytime soon. Now if this is the case, the likelyhood of changing the manifold is highly unlikely. So the only reason you have a problem selling the turbo is if you wanted to go bigger/smaller. So simple solution, sell the turbo manifold and gate as a package. I do turbo(GT30/35/40 etc) manifold and wastegate(Tial 44mm) package for $3200 delivered. I'm sure your second hand gear is still worth at least $2500-$2700 to someone in good secong hand condition, so basically, your only paying $500 to upgrade with all brand new stuff anyway. Just my 2c anyway, I understand not cutting up a housing, but from my persepctive, I can't see why it would have to be a problem. Cheers.......................6BOOST

arent you worried about the pipes sweating and fatiguing with the wrap?

well the way i see it is u hav got a restriction there if u got an open collector wit a split pulse housing if u had a split pulse manifold goin into an open turbine then there wouldnt b the restriction i want the wrap to keep temps down yes they do make the pipes rust quicker ect but im not to worried about that

using a split pulse housing on an open collector is dangerous becasue the bar across the centre of the turbo housing can melt!! Of course this can be controlled in tuning but a LOT of people melt them! I did lol!!
