Mate, if ya gunna stroke, get a 308 and go to a 355, VN heads and harrop efi set up. A 253 twin turbo set up, sounds good, but you will have to decopresion the motor ie new pistons.

the pistons in it are new are new but they r flat tops so they wouldn't be help the comperssion for the twin turbo set up.....i think i will go with that idea wat would be the biggest set up i could get for her that it could take

You'll need to get the compression down to atleast 8:1. So you need to find out what your at ATM. Then find a good deep dish piston to fit. The cam will also have to be changed. Twin T04 will be the turbos ya need. You need to think what induction system you want ie VN heads with EFI, or the heads you have with carby (Rochester).

its at like 9.5 or 10 - 1.........wouldn't it be an idea to get one small turbo and one big turbo to reduce lag...........have the smaller kick in at 2200 rpm and the bigger one kick in at 3300rpm

9.5-10 way to high. The turbo bit is over my head, however I cant see running two different size turbos working. You'll need them to be of the same size and flow (I think). T04's arnt big for a V8??

You might have to ringing around work shops in Brissy, as Turbo V8 are the big thing ATM, so most should be able to answer your questions. Plus the sort of cost your looking at.

if you want big power man you can forget the 1 big 1 small theory. get a big single gt 42 or similar or 2 400hp turbos

I would be very surprised if your springs are titanium (very expensive). The EFI set is the best way to go. I'm really not sure about this bag and small turbo set up. As duz360 said got to twin 400hp's. I would also look more into this, as 700-800hp is going to push every internal part in you motor to the limit and beyond. Especially crank and rods.

im a mate of tonner253 and wouldve thought that a twin turbo set-up would be good for the street. But one big turbo would be good for the strip? Not sure but from wat i can gather thses two diff set-ups are good for two diff things. Can any of you guys see 700hp coming from this motor with anything needed done to it? and would 10 grand cover it you reckon?

I would doubt 700hp out of a 253. However Im no expert, and I would think not many people would be on here, with the figures your talking about. Especially forking out 10k on a motor like this. I would go see a pro, who has been there done that. The only advice I would give is toss the 253 and get a 308, if ya gunna go for performance. BTW anyone can produce 700-800hp, but to have a motor last with that sort of power is the trick.

yeah ive tried to turn him away from the idea and get a bigger v8. but hes just so determined to use his small 253. LOL i keep telling him it wont last that long over time but its hard to tell. I see what you mean about getting a pro thats probably best.

Even the pro's are going to tell him to get a bigger V8.

i don't care u guys im want the smaller V8 just to prove how tough they are to everyone and also for goood power to weight ratio.......i was on a V8 twin turbo website and it said i would also need forged crank, forged pistons, forged cam and forged rods.......
