I just pulled off my XF tb and replaced it with a XE tb and now shes idles beautiful 900 with AAC connected. Only prob now is ive cut and joined the TPS wires and ive connected them wrong coz when you accelarate it will hit mayb 2000rpm and the car will die but not stall. Just wondering if new 1 no what the wire diagram for TPS is. Thanks for your time! Damo!!!

i found out one of my issues was that i didnt have one of the pipes that went from the plenum to the tb.. once i blocked that off it would idle normal... i was idling at 1500rpm sometime and then i just blocked off one of the pipes i got told ot block off and she worked.. pitty it doesnt really do jack on a NA

Would be keen to know if anyone has done it at all. when i convert to turbo, the plenum i get made up will be made to suit a GEN III throttle body, coz theyre like 85mm or something yeh?

Strange that I clicked this thread, as I was thinking about this manifold when I did so! CoastVL (Glen) was the one that was in the process of making one of these. I contacted him via PM a while ago out of interest but it wasnt complete or on the car yet. I have a spare plenum here and 2 throttle bodies so Im considering giving it a whirl!

by making one of thoes plenums would you have to change anything on the computer or change anything to the car?

Has anyone had issue with the XF Throttle Control spring no going all the way back eg. Idles at 2300RPM press on the Control Spring goes to back 1800-1900RPM, i've adjusted the throttle body screw all the way in and still not a great difference. I was thinking of running another spring on it??

yeah, i done it for the turbo conversion that i'm doing soon, but i can notice stiff all difference at the momment with the N/A like you say waste of money and a bit of mucking around! Oh and for the people that have this problem run another spring of it makes the pedal a little stiff but it works mine idles at 1400rpm on idle still a little high but yeah its better than 2000+

Theres a crazy R31 with 150kw atw from an NA RB30E on r31skyline club and he is running twin throttle bodies, no doubt a spastic cam and lots of other goodies though.

U need to make the motor want the extra air the tb gives it, by cam and head work and a/f tune.

yeah i had dramas when i put an xf on my car. would idle around 1500 in park.. then when i put it in gear itd stall. have to drive out the driveway with my foot on the brake and giving it some stick:| not to mention i got about 250km out of a tank.. hence why i only filled up twice then changed it back haha. I adjusted the TPS .. and it stopped chewing lots of fuel, but the injectors would cut out everytime i hit 2200.. kinda a pain in the *rse coming onto the highway.. or trying to make a gap:s I think it was something to do with the tps though. although i did take it to the mechanics for a tune or when i put the old plenum and throttle body back on and they said my crank angle sensor was rooted, but it ran well again when i got it back. I guess the old rb30's dont really like much mucking around with emission control? From my experience anyway i guess. But when it was on, i noticed the difference.. really felt the difference with a full car.. a bit better off the mark and no trouble spinning the 17's on the road (couldn't before:|) cheers. Steve.

Can anyone give me a straight answer. Changed to XF using the standard VL turbo auto TPS, as my car is a turbo auto. Sorted out the idle issues and idles sweet, drives at low load OK but misses when you boot it. Obviously a TPS issue. I have the big XF one but is it worth the mucking around. Can I simply leave something unplugged.

Either weld a bit of dag onto the end of the xf tb shaft or wrap some electrical tape around the end of the shaft so the tps sits in nice and tight. Check with an ohmmeter. Joel.
