I started to swap the rails and tracks over but didnt find it to be required. Sure the original track on the left side of the drivers protrudes past the original hole in the floor pan by an inch but it seems theres no reason to go to the trouble of changing tracks. My seats are marked underneath as dec1986 so assume its series 1. I then used some manifold washers as a extra support to the hex bolt but its not required. I will try and get some pics up soon. Just have to get the rear seats altered. Anyone got some pics of the rears in.?? That's illegal. And not safe.

Sorry to thread dig But does it matter if you don't swap the passenger rails or spacer over? Cuase i just put the passenger one in and it looks ok? But the drivers one needs the rails swapped as stated. And how do you know if you have s1 or s2 rails? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

S1 rails will not come off the seats. If you can remove your rails they are S2. Passenger seat will sit too high on the inside (sloped towards the door) if you don't change the rail over.

You can use a left hand passenger seat rail as a left hand driver's seat rail, if that makes sense...

That makes sense, however i have the s1 rail and its all one friggen piece so vl one is in for time being and go to a wrecker for the s2 rail. cheers for all your help man

All you need is a S2 passenger seat from a VL, you use the right hand rail on the passenger seat, and the left hand rail on the driver's seat. That should make it easier than finding a pair of S2 seats.

Seats VT onwards have different brackets and the rails cant be swapped for VL-VS type, totally different seat bases so the seat base has to be pulled right apart, it can be done with great difficulty, do a thread Search. I recommend buying VR/VS seats and getting a trimmer to put VL or your favorite trim in the centre.
