"Is the estimated monitary amount in which someone will pay for it at that point in time, where both parties are at arms length, and are acting knowledgebly, prudently, and with-out compulsion." So if someone pays 35K, then that is how much it is worth.
But let's just let it go. I don't even think the owner is speaking on this thread. Ha ha ha.

18-11-04, 21:08 GMT+10#62 Oh i can't help myself, dude you just shot holes in your own arguement.... Your mate would sell his car for 50k even though he spend 250k..... That's what we are all saying.... you never get back anywhere near the price of all the mods you have made. If you follow this formula then if he spent 50k all up his car is worth the grand total of 10k!
Obviously it is worth more than that but you pointed out in your own words what i am trying to point out. So using your logic how can this car possibly be worth 35k? Has he spent 175k on it? I think even the most one eyed observers here would say ummmm i don't think so.....
Just re-read your post mate, it's full of contradictions. I have decided to weigh out of the arguement of whether it is worth the cash or not but i'd like to take this opportunity to point out that you like to tell people you don't get your money back on mods, but in the next sentence you are saying how this is worth the money? I'm confused, make up your mind which way you wanna go!
And where in the ad does it mention a 'comp stereo' by the way? I'm not saying it doesn't have one, i just haven't seen it mentioned. Maybe you have seen it for real, just curious.
Cheers

geez that hurts.
i would say no higher than 10g tops to drop the motor and box in, do u fools even know what this stuff costs? what u think an ls1 is worth 10g alone or something??
ive put links and prices to things but u still dont listen, xxxxgold said himself above he did the conversion for under 10g in a vs!!
U guys really need to just stick to your rb30s as u obviously have no clue about the car scene.

19-11-04, 09:20 GMT+10#68 It depends very much on how much you spend on labour on how much the conversion will cost.
The cost of the hardware itself doesn't vary all that much (unless you get shafted and pay 7k just for the engine or something, don't laugh i've seen it happen) but the cost of labour can vary dramatically.
If you can do some of the conversion yourself as i did you can save a bucketload on labour, and if you have friends in the right places you can have it done for next to nothing. If you pay 15k for an LS1 conversion sorry to say you are getting royally screwed. My advice is to get as many quotes as you can before going ahead, i will guarantee you they will vary by as much as 3 or 4 grand.
This has got nothing to do with this car mind you, but anyone considering a similar project make sure you shop around. Even consider going interstate if you get a far cheaper quote there. $700 from Sydney to Melbourne and back for instance is a worthwhile investment if the conversion costs 3k less down there. I'm not saying it does, just an example. Hell even put a post on here and i'm sure you would get responses from people capable of doing the bulk of the conversion and i'm sure they wouldn't ask top dollar, just to be involved in a project like that would be enough for most people. Oh and a few cartons of the amber fluid wouldn't go astray either.....
