Funny thing was that when some got caught for defective vehicle's,There were more fool's done for high speed's and lost their licence's that night! I saw that red calais on the tow truck also...
The Police don't understand. It's just a big game now, and they think it's going to stop, but I guarantee you it's only going to get bigger, and bigger, and bigger.
The more canaries that are issued, the more corruption there's going to be. I know quite a few people who have had their car taken off the road, and dealing illicit drugs was the way they funded it's return. But after all, the Government doesn't care where the money comes from, as long as you pay your fines, you'll be sweet!

SPLITS got a point i agree with, all the people are there cause they wanna be there no one forced them to. I know when i go that the driver could be a victor brae or some ****head who cant drive either way just keep the distance and there wouldn't be anything reckless about it. The only difference about calder and street drags is the fact u pay $17 for a fence between u and a car, and u still get hit in the head with radial etc.
ps the kid who said,"of course its dangerous, but im young live hard or die hard" thats my car lol damn that night was better than staying in.
haha, the owner of LILDEF is a legend!
LILDEF: "it hasn't been doing any circle work, maybe a little burnout, but no circle work"
Reporter: "what about the stereo in the back. EPA approved?"
LILDEF: *looks back* "when it's off it is!"
hahahahaha
There's no doubt people are at risk at these drag meets, but these people have chosen to be there, and have chosen to put themselves at risk.
I don't know if this has been pointed out yet, because it seems pretty obvious to me, and I'm sorry to repeat it if it has, but here goes..
What a bunch of **** whits Today Tonight are. First they go about critisizing the illegal drag world, portraying it as a bunch of hoons who are the devils of todays society. But last week, wasn't their a story which went something like "Speed cameras, HOW TO BEAT THEM" ? You'd think a multi-million dollar tv show could get it right.
Today tonight.. Get a ****ing clue.
Now about those drags, sure they're illegal, I'm not going to blabber for too long, because alot of my points have been stated already in this thread. The government needs to concentrate on fixing the source of the problem, instead of going on a massive greedy power trip. Mr Bracks would be laughing all the way to the bank about last weeks canary spree. Fines never stopped people from breaking the law? They expect fines to stop a massive drag meeting which has been going on for many years now? That's like saying to a drug dealer, stop selling drugs otherwise I'll flick you on the arm.
Government/Police.. Get a ****ing clue.

yeh but Jetvlturbo the point most people go is because there ILLEGAL and more fun than goin and paying 10 buks to hang a burnout, at the end of the day the cops are there just to make the money, they really couldnt give a **** i think. Think about how much money the vic gov would of made with all those defects and sh*t, and always harrasing p platers. my 2 cents anyway.
this has already been said, but there is no way the cops can stop street burnouts/racing...they arent smart enough and arent quick enough, although i have never used a car at these burnouts..i have been, and it can be all over with in the matter of a few seconds, by the time the police get to each new location, it will be all over and moved somewhere else! goodluck trying to stop it Victoria Police

It's not like the police get more money for putting lickeys on cars; the govt. might but the cops are getting nothing out of it.
And how farkin stupid are you people? Whinging about polie crackdowns on events like this? No sh.it! Why on earth do you think you they'd let that kind of stuff go by? To everyone else in the world, hoons are criminals, no matter which way you look at it. That'll never change.
Either work with the system or work around it, but pretty silly to whinge when you get caught up in it. Just as spectators next to a car doing helis know they might get hit, you know you're going to (most likely) get defected at a street drag.

Spot on Neal
dont worry im sure there will be illegal drags somewhere around melb in a few weeks time, i doubt this will deter the ppl who like doin it and goin to it.. the problem is these days is calder/easternats etc have to charge huge prices to hold meets as public liability insurance is the major problem..
pretty freaky how the cops were in surrounding factories etc etc...
Just sad to see that there is potential for young guys to be great drivers and to waste there efforts and time to burn rubber just so ppl say "WOW".. Been to a alot of runs in sydney and if you dare to do a burnout ppl tell you to frickoff!
Smoke atracts attention and thats when the cops roll in.. Ive actually witnessed someone getting hit during a burnout.. not a good site.. 1. someone was hurt.. 2. a fight broke out.. 3. cars got damaged..
Im sure we have all dragged raced on the st here and still do... You cant teach a old dog new habbits
My 2 cents....
