The gearbox has now been basically rebuilt for huge power, and the motor has been retuned again now running approx 500hp at 22 pound. (Better than when it came 2nd at the nats, running less boost and also having far greater intake temps....go jason) Previously, matt had troubles getting the car to run properly, now the problem is now trying to keep PSI in a straight line as the powerband and delivery of power is seriously off tap, breaking loose 90' to the kerb at 150+ km/h with no clutch and brand new tyres. Pics to come soon - Can you host them for me poohkies if i send them to ya? Cheers So the car is running an auto and running less boost and has better inlet temps and making more power than in 2002 when it was manual

That is right, however the intake temps are obviously higher due to the environment up here. PSI is currently getting organised for powercruise 2007, whereby the application of a 100HP shot of NOS, 30+ pound boost and methanol fuel will show what she is really made of in terms of power production. However this will be done under strict supervision of the cars sponsors (JSM) in order to minimise the chance of detonation. If this is achieved, PSI will be rebuilt after the competition to try and maintain the motor for as long as possible. The wiring to the motor is to be hidden in the guards prioir to the competition, MSD ignition to be placed inside the car along with the NOS. The brakes are being upgraded, boot is being relined throughout with a possible custom made stereo system to be moulded into the boot. The external wastegate is to be modified so that a 5 - foot flame will be released under large amounts of boost which should really set the tone with night driving of PSI. The next images of PSI will show the work that has been done to the car, and i can guarantee that this work will be nothing short of impressive. Poohkies, i will see you at powercruise, if you could take some photos and videos to place on the site this would be much appreciated. yeahyeah

and this is all on a 5 plus year old motor? well i can't wait to see this go down the 1/4, nothing like backing up a dyno figure with a huge mph, with the hp your talking 130 - 140 mph shouldn't be an issue ? will it be ready for the first drag meet? on another note, i can't believe u are getting so much work done in a shop that's only 1/2 built a rb30 before, and havn't opted for one of the big guns like rajab jpc bresciani. u must have alot of faith

Poohkies, the motor has done about 5000k's in the last 3-4years, which is jacksh#t, so it may be a small concern yes, but no reason to doubt that it is still fully capable of running as fast as it ever has. I can not say what the figures are yet, as there will be more tuning to be done prior to the drag meets, which will give a better indication. On another note, the last RB30 (or 1/2 of one?) that was built by JSM produced over 570bhp, and after driving this car there is no doubt that i believe that this company know what they are doing in regards to tuning and building race packed RB30's, and at a good price. I do believe big companies like SAS never produced that much power from an RB30 (correct me if i am wrong), yet their claim is to be the ducks nuts of building engines, and would charge twice as much as JSM. It is all about value for money, and honestly, if i was building the motor from scratch i probably would send it south to Rajab, but for tuning, if i had to send it south i would sell the car. Faith is not an issue, as i have seen the results first hand by letting JSM sponsor PSI-03L.

i've havnt heard of sas But on the other hand have heard alot of thing about jsm, that's why i asked, u have faith in him that's all that matters. and he's done good buy u which is great, to get your car sponsored must be saving u $1000's the red made 435rwkw has it gone down the 1/4 mile yet? as in to give a mph figure to backup the dyno figure? yes it made power, but nothing different to any other vl running that much boost.

just wondering if u know if the red one went to the Summernuts? and where it came, cause someone's been telling porkys that it did well, but there was no vl in the 1st 2nd or 3rd place, and the 3rd place came at 420hp buy a xr6 turbo? so that means if it did compete in the comp it can 4th or lower?

So it is all about a big turbo....winding it up to 30 pound boost and sitting back and watching 400+kw come from the wheels. lol. i would like to see just any vl make that figure consistently. Not sure what the figures were on the red beast built by JSM as i believe the intercooler split prior to the Dyno comp, hence i dont think it actually was entered. It was at the nats however, and it was a damn privledge driving around in it through the crowds.

The big boys you say....well i believe you were the one who did not know SAS, you know the guys that built PSI, they are really big, but obviously not big enough for you to know...lol. Ha, the reason i haven't spent MONTHS reading up on these N/A motors is because I HAVE A LIFE, unlike yourself, as i see you are constantly arguing on this website, let alone the rest of them, is this your job??? Can i ask you, as i know you are currently building a RB30 (in the making for years now i believe...too much preaching, and not enough action) is your RB30 a standard N/A bottom end and top end??? The reason i ask is because in the research you have done (which as far as i know is true, and i do not doubt it), it would be a real shame to see you waste money on things like custom cams, pistons, rods, rings - basically anything aftermarket apart from the turbo - because your confidence that it will pull 400+kw really intrigues me, and i would hate to see you waste all this money and NOT make such an AVERAGE figure...lol. Seriously, why dont you finish your car, get it to powercruise and show us what it can do?.. and sitting in front of the computer will not help this process by the way!!! P.S: If you are so keen on what the JSM Vl pulled at summernats (we know you are) why dont you get on the website and find out for yourself, it cant be too hard, and by the way i was not present for the final day of the dyno shoot, so the information given to me by the owner of JSM may be incorrect... but i doubt it!! Good speaking to ya!!

Good speaking to ya!! Comment one, Regarding SAS, your words that SAS where the big guns [quote]do believe big companies like SAS never produced that much power from an RB30 (correct me if i am wrong), yet their claim is to be the ducks nuts of building engines, and would charge twice as much as JSM.[quote] hince why i said, well they arn't the big guns as the big gun shops are making nearly 2wice that power? hince why i said i havn't heard of them? And the fact that jsm got that wasn’t really flash considering other shops Regarding learning and having a life, I suppose when I hand over money I like to know who’s working on my car, and if the person working on the car, doesn’t seem to know anything like putting an rb20 head on a rb30 to make more power (actually flows less than the single cam rb30 head) I can’t see that I would even let them work on my barina! regarding Summernuts, as a customer from jsm said the red vl went really well at summernuts and this has nothing to do with me having no time, as i had brought the street machines summernuts mag, and as i love rb's and had read it, then was told that a vl competed and went well yet wasn't in the magazine or mentioned find a bit sus wouldn't u? as the xr6 made only 400hp and yet the jsm vl's makes 500plus ?? sound fishy, o that's right intercooler issues just to add to the fishiness, now 3rd place was decided on the saturday, buy an xr6 that only competed on the Saturday and made just over 400hp, 1st and 2nd where decided on the Sunday, so if it did competed and went well it would 1 have been mentioned on here, 2 it's average would have been over 400hp and should have at least managed to win 3rd place No? next point, mmm this doesn’t make sence? [quote]The reason i ask is because in the research you have done (which as far as i know is true, and i do not doubt it), it would be a real shame to see you waste money on things like custom cams, pistons, rods, rings - basically anything aftermarket apart from the turbo - because your confidence that it will pull 400+kw really intrigues me, and i would hate to see you waste all this money and NOT make such an AVERAGE figure...lol. [quote] I have no confidence regarding 400kw, never mentioned that number once or ever said I wanted 400kw? I mentioned that 500hp is nothing to rave about when people have made 400hp plus on NA motors (not sure where u are confused) regarding engine building skill etc! that was all I was more mentioning that regarding knowledge of rb’s and what there capable off, And no one in the right mind walks into a shop and not know anything about what they want or what it takes to get that hp. [quote] Seriously, why dont you finish your car, get it to powercruise and show us what it can do?.. and sitting in front of the computer will not help this process by the way!!![quote] Next point! As I’ve built my car from scratch, havnt brought it and then taken to a shop to tweak what was already done, I have put everything I wanted into it, to make it what I wanted And as it is finished I don’t see the issue regarding this? As it’s already entered and approved for the powercruise once again I don’t see this point? Finishing it Regarding Preaching, if your car isn’t running at least a 140 mph plus down the quarter I’d be the one to stop preaching!
