ok people, would everyone on both sides please just chill the f**k out!! this forum is about learning from others!! not slagging each other!! i have been building Race Engines all my life and would probably never let any one else ever build a motor for me, but it sounds like ttvlman has alot of pride in his work, which is a very good thing of which can not be said for most mechanics. i believe that the nissan head gasket IS better, but that is only from everyones comments on the forums over the last few years. i have used a copper gasket on my girl as i have alot of experience using them on other engines, and i have never had any problems. as for bearings, you cant beat clevite, but i have seen several na and turbo cars pulling very big numbers, and have been relaible for tens of thousands of kms. the biggest killer of bearings is detonation, or obviously a lack of oil. and people, please do not start comparing different cars for street drags, its just sad and lame! can we please keep the forum friendly, and put all that energy into constructive comments regards mark

i wish i knew back when i first bought my car what i know now. acl stuff is probably fine for n/a apps but for high performance u need decent stuff. this not only applies to their head gaskets, but pistons as well. i speak from bad experiences of things f*cking up! good luck with the acl stuff, you'll need it. i sleep well knowing i have a nissan head gasket and wiseco pistons now Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Bottom line is, regardless how good you think you are, you lack experience. You cant buy it, you cant earn it, you can't steal it! It only comes with time and an open mind. Close your mind off to learning and you will never get it no matter how long you are in the game! The only hint is to learn of others that have already been there and done that. Seems to me and many others that you are trying to re-invent the wheel! Go ahead and waste your time and start from ground zero. You are trying to convert people you have been around these motors for years. And with some of us you have nothing compared to what we know! I can tell you now, don't brag about being a 24yo mechanic. That does not work in your favour at all! I have been working on VL's and many others while mommy was still making your lunch for school. You have ruined it for your self on this forum. I have seen many a performance business fold with the same attitude you have, and you are just going to be another! No sympathy from here tosser.....

But the only reason i did use them was because they were best suited to the application. Where a RB30ET is conscerned i would prefer to use a nissan gasket as they are tried and proven. man in all honestly goodluck with your business and use whatever you preffer, but i know i will use a nissan gasket as i have not personally tried an ACL one in a RB30 and i don't want to take the chance of doing unecesarry damage to a motor for the sake of $80. On another note i just perchased a RB30ET and it had a blown head gasket (only 6months old), not sure on the brand but i put a genuine one in to replace and haven't had a problem even though i've pushed it to it's limits... cheers, Steve.

Ok, you have basically tried to come onto this site and re invent the wheel, 24yo (claimed) mechanics who dont own workshops and do performance engines for $1500 are dubious, its pretty apparent that you think you know everything and seem to forget that there are actually a lot of hi pro and actual licenced mechanics on this board. Ask anybody serious about these engines and ask them how much it costs to do them properly? I personally paid close to $7000 in parts and i am a mechanic so i did all the work myself. Dude, why do you think everybody uses nissan gaskets? Because they work not because they are more expensive. I would seriously suggest you have a long hard think about pretending to be something your not to avoid the disrespect and embarasement you have brought on yourself from the users of this board.
