i just brought my new DBA gold rotor's today and im looking for some pads. i will go for the greenstuff for the front and bendix at the back as 'kneedragger' has done, my brakes needed upgrading so i thought i may aswell go the whole distance and get cross drilled with pbs calipers www.hoppers.com.au (http://www.hoppers.com.au) - whole brake setups (front $650 or F&R $850) http://www.pbr.com.au/ - brakes (calipers etc) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

ok HSVSUX i know im being a little annoying karnt...but just one more question pleeez! new rotors are worthless unless they are machined on the car after initial replacement?? i just wanna get this **** right b4 i go to my boss and say suck on my balls this is the way we should be doing ****! cause dammit i wanna be 100% proud of my work! when there is any doubt there is no doubt LOL Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

So you are a mechanic then? Do us all a favor and machine them on a lathe. you already said you dissagree with me. we will leave it at that.

the x drilled rotors will crack if you get some heat into them. so just get the slotted rotors, and they are cheaper too! mark

yes, they do crack from hole to hole, but im not a V8 super car driver ... it will require alot of heat to crack, i just wanna have insurance that i can stop quick enough Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yep, but the slotted will as good a job, if not better than the x drilled. the slotted have more heat sink volume. i cracked my 330mm on the street, but i was giving them hurties mark Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

My brakes are awwwful at the present moment - they'll stop the car but the squeel that comes from them is hideous... at first i thought I might change the pads over - to see if it was the problem, or if the disc needed machining - picked up some cheap ass nasty crap ($30 a pair ferodo ****), and still squeeled like a pig. Got the discs machined on the car - and it still does it.... thought the **** pads had better go - so... Any recommendations for Pads for normal street use - Do the ultimates wear the disc too much ? Is it worth looking round for and shelling out the bikkies for EBC Greenstuff if your most likely not going to do any track work at all - maybe a spirited run every once in a while - or some heavy braking when some ****-knuckle wants to cut you off in everyday traffic... A few shops recommended not going for Ultimates (or even Advanced) as they are too hard and will eat the disc in no time... businesses these days are prolly full of bull**** when people ring up with q's like that.. thought i'd bring it here and see if anyones got any suggestions ? HSVSUX ???

Well I don't know about you guys , but I've had DBA gold disc's and Bendix Ultimates on my car for 3 YEARS and they are perfect. They probably would wear quick on a track but on the street they are fine. And there are no cracks between any of the holes either. So please make up your own minds and have a nice day Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The Ferodo Formula pads are EXTREMLY good (from experience). The ones you probably tried are Ferodo exels which are pretty useless, I think you can buy them in BIGW . The ultimates , I've heard, are harsh on the discs so I wouldn't try them. DBA have tried the formulas on their discs with great results yet people for some reason have had trouble using DBA discs and EBC Greenstuff... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I don't know man ; the EBC work very well. Of corse I can't say about disk wear anything yet , but it doesn't look too bad so far . One thing is for sure , if you try them out , you won't regret . Perfect grip . cheers

I didn'y say the EBC GS are harsh on the disc, I said that people have had trouble (shuddering) using them and DBA slotted and or drilled discs.

I just run DBA slotted with ulimate pads and car pulls up fine. i dont know why every need super performance brakes for . if u need to pull up that hard on the street u are driving too fast. DBA x drilled are banned by CAMS for a good reason

Well all you guys buying new discs, youd better on-board machine them before you even leave the workshop, or else they'll shudder!! It must be the same with new cars, i guess they would on-board machine the discs before even the first test drive! Due, of course, to the uneven run out on hubs/bearings/cones that most cars have.
