ok i have a strange question to ask.
came home tonight and went up the driveway where the Vacationer is parked and has been for a while now , but discovered there was tranny fluid below it , so investigated some more and saw drips of tranny fluid on most the bolts etc etc and my question is , how the hell can it leak out if it hasnt moved in a while??? :S would it be aucklands wild temperatures or is it a rat eating the lines?? haha HELP

Possibly was already wet and with the car parked in one spot for awhile, all the small drips have moved to one corner, formed into a big drip and taken a dive to the ground
Main leaks from any Auto Trans are usually the pan gasket and rear tailshaft seal.
If you do change the pan gasket you loose afew litres of fluid but once removed you have access to the Trans filter which you change at the same time killing 2 birds with one stone

removing the factory head unit from a vl calais. is there anyway to remove it without doing any damage, because i want to keep it. the last one I did I had to resort to removing it with a 4 pound hammer and cold chisel!!
soon to be running healthy turbo setup on a8 block sitting anywhere between 7and 10pound boost on a stock unmodified auto good idea or bad? im not sure what the auto is like all i know is the car runs a non-turbo auto n the auto has stally in it

oh yeah and another couple of things, when removing inlet manifold/ rocker cover and replacing them is there a certain amount i should tighten them when putting back on or doesnt it make a difference ?
lastly, can i just slap on a forward facing inlet manifold or do modifications be made? because it would be much easier with a forward facing manifold and the piping would turn out shorter = less lag ?

Anyone know what is the inner diameter of the top radiator hose? Need to know to get one of these for my gauge http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-...-483988946.htm (http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/gauges/auction-483988946.htm)
I just measured an old hose I had, and it has internal diameter of 35mm... But is an old hose. You could measure the external diameter of the hose fitting (the pipe, not the hose itself) on the radiator as this would give you a better idea of how tight a fit is required. My guess is that you'd want a fairly tight fit.

where is the factory water sensor? Yes Dan just spent few $$ on autometer gauges
the one on the left is the temperature sensor to the ecu , leave that one alone. the one on the right with the green wire is the sensor to the gauge thats the one you want to change
