would get 45k without the wank factor parts added, but not in its current condition. Still a mint starting point for bodywork and engine though

Genuine SS maybe, but not SS Group A. Something funny going on though, VK SS only came in white and silver and the SS Group A came with a different front bar and without those side skirts

Why would you put those ugly gauge face plates in there! Are those factory door trims? I though they had heiringbone on them as well?? I'm sure Marty will give a heads up about it soon.

Hey guys just thought I'd post this here, I have a bunch of stuff on TM that I really need to get rid of, make me a good offer on anything, see the link below http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Lis...&member=737373 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?searchtype=SELLER&member=737373) cheers Sam

$45k is a big ask for a VK SS IMO, especially since its far from original and hasn't been tastefully modified. I reckon he'd be doing well if he got $25k for it

That car was sold years ago in the Group A colour(looked better back then)It is a genuine SS.Door Cards should on have a velour trim only with the vinyl.I agree with Alex on the price, and only if he is very lucky,Shame to add those mods on a car like that.Looked good when it just had the blue. Cheers Marty

theres no reason why someone couldnt put it back to original. Paint job and SS stickers would be an issue. cant believe any one would do that to a HDT, those white gauges and losing the wheel and gear knob far out!!

10+ years ago a VK SS wasn't anything special, and even today I don't rate them equal with most other HDTs, so I can see why it got painted and modified. The problem with it now is to paint it and tidy it up after paying $45k for it would make it a very expensive non special HDT. For the $65-70k it would owe you I'm sure there are better options

to you maybe its nothing special, alot of people, myself included rate them, what im saying if you get it for $25 then its worth getting all the crap non HDT stuff out and putting it back to factory as best as possible, sit on it for another 5-10 years and you make your money back no prob. Def not worth $45 as it is though.

I guess I remember them when you could buy a half decent one for $10-12k. They were just the base model HDT that no one wanted, kind of like the HSV Manta - yeah it's an HSV, but everyone wanted the Clubsport or GTS Regardless of how I see them, this is the quality of car you would expect for around the $35-45k mark in NZ http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...k&sort=default (http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/holden-brock-1985-13136061?base=&vertical=Car&cr=0&eapi=2&__N=1246+1247+1252+1282+4294965857+4294961000+1216&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=default)

When I first saw that car the owner could not afford a GP ASo he had a mate paint his SS(was 10 odd years old then and needed a tidy up)So he decidded to paint it blue Like a GPA.Looked good had all the HDT parts and build no.(for a SS)But most people would not Pick it as a plain SS(untill you say the 15" rims)Gp a's had 16's.So for what he spent it looked really good.Today if you spent say 25k to get it looking back the way it should be it would be an expensive motor car,If you hunt around you can pick up a GP A for about 65-75k,so if it was me I would not wast my time on the SS.You would want to pick it up for about 12k max.But that is just my opinion. Cheers Marty

The real deal holyfield... http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-518828329.htm (http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/holden/commodore/auction-518828329.htm) This IMO is far better value than that VK SS... only $20k more and you get the Group A in original condition and in the best colour

He makes good OTR intakes though, I'll be putting one on my VE as soon as my exhaust comes in - 20rwkw straight bolt on no tune from the intake alone!
