Looking good man, was good choice to do it while you could. It's my favourite part of the builds, standing back and seeing how your hard work takes shape

Was definitely the right choice. Almost finished engine bay prep, will update pics soon. Had a 253 trimatic, but looking at a celica 5 speed.

They work well, cheap as sh*t and will last fine behind a mild 308. Just my 2cents..

Spent a few nights and weekends sanding, filling, priming, sanding......... Finally primed the whole thing, needs some fine sanding before the top coats go on. Big difference with the lighter colour. Even more convinced that painting it body colour is the right decision! Have been spending money ha!. Have new bushes for the whole front end - need to paint control arms etc before fitting, have a reconditioned power steering rack, and rather than the trimatic ended up buying a t5 manual gearbox. Need to start painting the engine bay before fitting everything together. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Finally painted the engine bay. Just need to buff it a bit in the next few days. Still have to black out a few bits like where the headlights sit and around grill area. Thanks for the prompt Ben and everyone else, was definitely worth the effort! Also painted all of the front suspension parts. Will put in new bushes in the next few days Just received the T5 gearbox today. Next major exercise after installing the front suspension. Should be interesting! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

That engine bay look friggin awesome bro. Dam. Nice work. Components look fresh too! Not to kill your build buzz. Just a version of the Walkinshaw I have always liked and are very rare. The Calais Walkinshaw. It was a walkinshaw with out the body kit and just the bonnet scoop. Would look cool with the nice wheels and not the stocks. Some pics I have found from the Internet. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Turned out better than I thought it would. No worries with the Calais Walkinshaw - had seen it before on a website. Looks really good, but a bit tame for my liking. Also I dont think my son would forgive me if we go down this route! But if we werent doing a full Walky kit, would definitely do something like this. ---------- Post added 09-02-13 at 21:24 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by NZ-SXYHDT [View Post] Looks the ducks guts mate, well done. well worth the extra effort. Removed heaps of dirt from the rest of under the body, rust killed and under sealed it. Blacked out the areas around radiator and headlights so you wont see anything through the grill. Replaced all bushes with urethane items. Assembled and fitted front subframe. Fitted new cobra springs and new shortened shocks, replaced front wheel bearings and fitted new rotors while I was at it. Shiny and new! Also put on the new wheels and finally dropped the car back on the ground Slowly starting to look like a car again Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
