I've got a few little updates here.
This weekend, I have fitted a new power steering rack, DBA slotted front rotors, Bendix ultimate front pads, new GMH front wheel bearings and a Whiteline strut brace.
I also had Dr. Bolt (Pederson Race Fabrications) weld a tab on the cold cooler pipe so I could mount it to the body and prevent it from sagging!
My VL has the "series 2" power steering pump with the big, ugly high pressure line that comes out the pump and goes up and then loops back down in front of the turbo which gets in the way of the intercooler piping and my future taylor made intake piping. So I cut the high pressure pipe up, flared it and used some Gates push-lock 300psi hose to shorten and neaten it up and get it out of the way!

Looking good Locky. How far off is the new head? I'm guessing you haven't changed the cracked head yet?
Have you taken it for a burn with the strut brace? Notice any difference?

Nah, I haven't changed the head yet, just cruising it with metallic seal up in the system at the moment. I think the head upgrade and e85 tune will come early in the new year.
The strut brace has helped stiffen up the front end a fair bit, I also forgot to mention that I changed the front sway bar "D" and link bushes to Nolathane at the same time. I'm taking it to work tomorrow to give it a wheel alignment. I'll give it a bit more negative camber and toe out for spirited driving
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Cheers mate. It's still running and registered. I've decided to build another motor for it. I picked up an A6 bottom end that has shot peened rods and ARP rod studs already in it. I've got it stripped down and it's gonna be cleaned and machined in the next few weeks. I'm just gonna put a set of Hypertech pistons in it, ACL Race series bearings, some ARP main studs and I'll swap the oil pump over from My A8 motor.
Here are a few bits I have acquired for the build.
I have also ordered a Lock Right Lokka from Justin at Tuff Car Parts, who I also bought the Rochester 1000cc injectors from.

What size injectors are those, and is there merit in changing the diff cover (apart from looks)? Cars looking good too, what power you chasing with the new motor?

14mm 1000cc. Overkill for a high flowed t3 I know. I'll be happy with anything over 270rwkw with the new motor and E85 conversion.
The diff cover is a lot stiffer than the pressed steel item plus it has studs that screw in and press on the bearing caps to stop them from flexing.

You'll be able to get that easily. Have you raced it with the current setup at the drags (i see you did some 1/8th, but no 1/4 times)?

Nah, I haven't had it down the 1/4 mile yet. I definately will though once the new motor is in and I've had the diff done!

Cheers guys. Yeah, I ended up getting them for $1,000. My target power figure is 350kw. Other bits I have for it are CPC street version plenum with billet 80mm throttle body, 6boost exhaust manifold, Microtech LT10s, Bosch ID2000 injectors.
