Evening all,
I was talking to a mate from one of our branches today and it turns out he is good mates with the owner. He helped him with a lot of the build and he shared some info that may help answer some of your questions. Firstly - I hear it goes just a good as it looks!

Ruins it?!? Whatever... it would be half the car it is without all that chrome awesomeness towering out of the bay!
As for the Calais front - clearly the owner (like many others) understands the age old rule - Calais Front FTW - End of story!

These 'flaws' you speak of may be ironed out in the coming weeks - from what i understand there are a few bits a pieces that need to be finished off - it wasn't quite ready but he wanted to get it to the show!

Not to mention the plates dont belong to it lol
As for the no WOF and Reg - he didn't get time to get it all certed before Kumeu; no cert = no wof = no reg. As for the plates not matching the car, that is apparently because in order to get the plates he had to have them registered to a vehicle - so he just rego'd them to his VN and put them on his VL at Kumeu.

Yeah you could see it wasn't up to scratch and needed finishing which I can understand with what that engine would of cost ! hope the rest will be as good as the engine bay

This is not a dig,But at Most car shows and certainly national shows the have to be road worthy. The last nats a car was withdrawn as it did not have a cert,(redrat)And the last hot rod nats the car that one was also withdrawn
Becouse the motor was not a goer,(no pistions in the blocks)What was required for this show?and was it driven on the road?
But for my opinion she looks like a fine beast,And yes I do know the hassels of trying to get it finished on time.
Cheers Marty

I'm not sure on the exact rules at Kumeu - I don't know if the car has to be road worthy or not. Judging by some cars i've seen there in the past i am assuming not. It's basically just a good fun day out as far as i am aware. Perhaps if you want to be entered in the competition then its needs to be road worthy... I'm not too sure.
Cheers,
J
