BluVLCT.......... from reading your posts on here is seems all you care about is how lumpy your car will sound at idle?? i would have thought that finding a cam that actually suits the set up you have would be more important???? If you just want a cam that sounds hot just get an 1147c........besides that if you want one that will actually suit your car......what other mods have you got?? i have used i think 4 cams in my car 242a, 1147c a big **** off tighe (cam that really should have been solid) & now i use a crow tx2 all of the cams suited what i needed at the time (apart from the tighe cam it managed to **** some valves) most of the cams around are very good if you use them for the set up they are intended for...............so really you can't go wrong if you choose based on what you intend to do with it not how it sounds......... really want a mean idle dis connect a few spark plug leads lol

I was thinking of going camtech cam below with specs: Part No: CT503 545B-115 inlet 245 ex 245 @0.50 LSA 115 LOBE LIFT with 1.6 rocker .552 in, .552 ex how would you rate that to the 1147? It is a bigger cam, but would it be less lumpier on idle due to the LSA of 115? 1147C has 110. How do you compare the tx2 to 1147c? l would expect the power to come on about the same through the rev range with the 1147 being more lumpier on idle? I don't need a cam from take off, but more so from midrange and top end power... thanks

I would "guess" the tx2 would come on earlier, it also has a 117 or 118 lsa angle, so would make more midrange aswell in theory and get the car on the converter quicker. I sorta think you are going about this the wrong way. cheers darren

I sorta think you are going about this the wrong way. cheers darren as darren has said that is a VERY big hydraulic cam........honestly i don't think id use it, my old cam was similar in size (the tighe) cam) from memory the duration was around 248 on mine & we got thru one dyno session before lifter pump up become a VERY ****ing big problem .... I would only use the camtech cam if it was solid..........its very hard for me to say about the difference regarding the two cams......when i had the 1147c i also had a rajab plenum & a gt35/40 it made power to 7000 & then fell away sharply, with the tx2 i have a JPC plenum & it makes power to 8200......on paper the two cams are very similar but imo the tx2 is a better all round cam, yes the 1147c will sound meaner on idle but it wont make the low down power that a tx2 will due lsa difference.........beyond that a friend of mine had a tx2 cam in his car with a stock ecu & no other mods & i mean none & it run a 13.1@105 on radials as a side note........ from what i have seen on my car every mod you have will effect each other so like i said earlier you are probably best just matching each thing to each other, the sad truth is if you want top end power you will sacrifice low end power....... above i mentioned that with a rajab plenum my car made power to 7000 ......well with nothing else changed we put a SPP plenum on the car & it lifted the power curve....it now made power to 7800 (probaly futher but i was scared to rev it) made more power on lower boost & was slower to come up on the brake.........for all intense purposes it was almost like we had just changed the cam to something bigger..........my point is match everything as best you can.........as how good of a result you get won't come down to what you have bolted to the engine it will come down to how well what you have bolted to it works with every other component bolted to it, if i was in your shoes i would just copy darren as what he had worked very well as a whole package....... edit........with the 1147c at 60k my car hunted like a bitch you could feel it badly.........in summary lol just get a tx2 they are a very good all round cam

The 810b has 241.5 on inlet and exhaust... I might go and swap my cam over and get the 810b, as my 1147c is still in the garage...lol the 810b make the 1147c look small.

I think pannic is running the 810b cam or is it 1147c?
