Well I think before anyone gets thier knickers in a knot we need some information on what is happening. If they are going to replace it with another event and Easternats is going to move to Calder park then what is the big issue? We have two events to choose from. For the guys mentioning about doing burnouts and racing on the street... do you seriously think you're trying to help the cause?

if a cruise is organised no stupid behavior or its just a pointless cruise! we are doing this to show the people that we can behave and do what we love doing in a well mannered way and raise some money for a charity!

to properly execute this protest we MUST get the cooperation of other automotive forums such as etstreet, vicstreetscene, aussiev8s, justcommodores, fullboost and even the smaller more specific ones. It is essential that if your an organiser or passionate about this topic that you get the word out If we unite we can stop these ridiculous laws and bans taking place.

What date are we thinking? something around the time that easternats would be held would have to have the most impact? Guys we are missing the point here really really bad... This is just another thing the government/anti 'hoon' supporters are doing to take our focus/attention of how they are slamming us without lube. why dont we go over their heads and get straight to the point We need to protest not only about the whole easternats issue but the whole issue of "hoon laws" I have written a series of letters to the goverment, rta etc trying to help with a better solution to the problem... Basically I am 1 person who cant do sh1t and they know it. Ive hit them with statistics such as each years road toll compared with the ever growing population of vic and i can tell you the road toll is not as high as previous years. Basically what we need to do, is try to find a happy medium. We must be willing to play by their rules too, in saying so an example would be to have a dedicated area/strip dedicated to strictly cars and what ever we want to do with them. Obviously you would have no insurance etc once on the grounds (much like terms and conditions of heathcote), but the grounds would not be privately owned, it would be government owned. Before anyone has a whinge about 'ye but they wont make money off it so they wont want a bar of it', we need to put the matter worth with supporting arguments such as yes but a: we pay tax b: we would need to put forth an argument stating how we 'the hoons' will do our bit in keeping the roads safe etc Somethings gotta get done, im sick of the one passion so many of us share being ripped out from under us and on top of that being made to look like we are the scum of the society. Its not hard to get alot of people to a certain place at a certain time to stand up for whats right as the gov/police would have gathered in the last month or so. If i remember correctly a quote from page9 of the herald sun went something along the lines of 'its gotten out of hand this time, i dont know if we can control it' just goes to show that we are a bigger power then most think or make out. Sorry to jumble along, long story short im 120% buy your side BLK747 and anyone else whos whilling to stand up for this and as alot of u know i shouldnt have too much of a problem getting the word out

Just no beast club.. please.. it would destroy the validity of something like this.. I'm more than Happy for CT to help promote something like this, as i'm sure most other car forums/clubs would too. BUT, it needs to be kept very well behaved, people will be waiting for someone to do 1 thing wrong to say "see I told you they were just a bunch of hoons!".. And it will only take 1 idiot out of the thousands that will support it to turn out bad.... lets prove them wrong... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I agree it would be very contradicting if we organise a protest cruise and people drop patches everywhere. Everyone has to be on their best behavior and realize what they are actually cruizing for. We should also consider police officers who are also against this agenda, if we have a few police cruseirs with coming along for the ride it would help get the point across Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

steve i agree, but what is the likely hood of 2000+ car enthusiasts that are slowly getting every right/occation associated with cars stripped behaving perfect, not well. We need to be realistic about this and talk between all on calaisturbo and et before we get it all out and about So whats the 1st plan of attack?

i say we hold a meeting, and invite all interested to voice their opinoins, and suggestions, and come up with a plan of attack, in a civilised manner, and we're more than happy to offer our premises here, near melbourne airport, to hold such a meeting...the offer stands.

hehe bit convineint for you dont you think. If we keep it close to the CBD it is accessable for people from the north south east and west hence allowing more people to come. But 500+ is alot of cars and to accomodate all of them close to the city maybe difficult. I know the Carpark on the grass next to the MCG can take 1000 cars or so but i wouldnt know if they would rent it out.
