Lol I pretty much got in an argument with a guy while on my new years holiday, cause he had a VL that he was going to put an RB26DETT in (we all know the usual story) but changed his mind because "They have leaf springs in the rear" I kept telling him "No they don't" he insisted they did, I kept telling him to go take a look under mine, "Ian knows they have leaf springs too, eh Ian?" "GO LOOK UNDER MINE" he was sort of reacting as if I was insulting his knowledge. I got bored and gave up, because he wouldn't look under my car.

Your dad won't give you a WOF. Stink ow! Plenum isn't a certifiable item though is it? Do you need the cert purely for the extra power you have over standard?

noel told me to go for wof first then go back for rewof after cert
plenm could be certable due to it being "modified vehicle" as the vtnz see it

Interesting to note the ride height of the bbq - it's riding really high - which is similar to the problem you're having Mike - the light weight isn't compressing the springs enough. It looks like it's gonna be a case of trial and error to get the ride height right. Personally I'd want it to run nice and low - the wheels almost tucking into the guards. Compressed springs and shortened shocks will probably be the answer. So long as it's done right, you wont have any problem keeping the springs captive. (BTW rear wagon shocks are shorter than sedan ones) The finished trailer is going to be pretty light so it's not gonna need a lot of suspension travel.

Hey guys been awhile
Yes it's still here and I have got some time for it. After running around the last 2 months sorting out a job now that's done it's all go \
But I need some parts if anyone can help please let me know
Calais side skirts (only need the rear parts but will buy the whole set )
Calais Left tail light
Calais garnish
Calais tail lights surrounds or hockey sticks
Also I need the boot channel up to the bottom of the rear windscreen as rust has taken most of it away I'm sure one of you have a VL body that it can be cut out of for me
This is the part I mean not my photo (I think it's Aarons ??)but you get the idea
Will be mocking up the BBQ in the boot and doing the draw bar plus filling some holes over the easter break
Cheers guys any help will be great
Mike
