Anyhow, back on topic, today I picked up a disc brake diff with handbrake cable and a S2 Calais dash cluster! Plus I have been informed about a red berlina interior at an undisclosed wrecking yard which I plan to pick up the seats and door trims on tuesday or next weekend! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Ok, so on Tuesday I went to go pick up these red seats and someone had taken the LHF seat!! So I only bought the driver's seat.. dev'd. Anyhow, I cleaned up and fitted my recently aquired S2 Calais dash cluster and also had Captain Thread around to remove the broken exhaust studs and fit the new ones This weekend I plan to have the engine, trans and diff re-fitted to the car and I plan to register it late this week.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

OK so I didnt get around to fitting the engine and trans on the weekend, but the diff is in and ready to go, new rear pads in, brake fluid flushed, I have sourced some pacemaker extractors, an IAC valve and accelerator cable, I have removed the cam and head gasket and replaced them with stock items, I have painted the Nissan rocker cover gloss red. Blah blah blah. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Could you do me a solid and hook me up with your dash? I know you need it, but I'm quite inconsiderate. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Epic weekend of working on the ol Berlina. I had a mate from work stay over the whole long weekend and help me put this beast back together. It basically took 2 full days and 2 last minute trips to U-PULL-IT to get her back on the road. It turns out the speedo in the Calais cluster I fitted is inoperative also the cat was broken internally so I had to fit the decat pipe I had made up for the turbo set up, which is gay and I would like to get a cat fitted to quieten it down a little as it is pretty loud with the pacemakers, decat and the 2.5" single muffler cat-back.. And the first wash, Monday evening. That front bumper is aids but was all I could afford for the time being lol Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Cheers Pat, there is still work to be done! Cosmetically and performance wise.

On the weekend I had a look into why the speedo wasn't working and I must not have connected the cable properly because it was totally disconnected! So its all operational now . I also fitted the SV badge I had for it. My girlfriend bought a new steering wheel for it on Friday, which I think is quite a nice one for a cheapy and as You can see in the photo, She has also bought some Playboy seat covers for it too lol (She is using the car full time until She buys it off me). I also painted the wiper arms satin black and then fitted some hot pink wiper inserts which She had also bought for it. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I dont think anyone cares now that this is an N/A, girls car but I think the disk brake diff I put in has 3.08 gears in it because it's a total slug!! Will have to change the gears when I put an LSD in it.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Not that anyone cares.. lol I scored some pretty much new King Springs lows and short stroke Monroe gas shock absorbers for the rear at U-PULL-IT north yard this week and fitted them up. It now feels alot firmer in the rear! My missus has now officially bought the car off me and has also bought some mint, unpainted Calais side skirts and a set of lower door moulds off SPRIGZY and a brand new front bumper to be painted and fitted up when the car goes to the painters to get the scratched boot lid painted and the rusty cowl panel fixed. It also had a terrible exhaust leak which made it sound like a tractor and injectors 4 and 6 were leaking, so while I had some time off work I got around to fixing these problems. It turns out the extractors I bought 2nd hand for it are warped at the head flange (port number 5 raised) so I bought 2 new exhaust manifold gaskets, glued them together with a nice thick layer of silicone, and then applied a nice thick layer of silicone to both sides of the 2 gaskets, while I was there Steve (XCHASE) has lent me his spare cat to replace the decat I had temporarily fitted along with new gaskets either side and new rubber hangers through out the system. It now sounds a lot nicer! I also raplaced the two leaking injectors. But since I have carried out this work, it now guzzles a lot of fuel and blows black smoke and has a flat spot on acceleration.. :S I think it might be the O2 sensor? I also checked the diff tag.. 3.23:1 gears! I didn't know VLs came with 3.23s? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Whilst this car's direction has disappointed me greatly, it does look good. 3.23s don't ring a bell, but it also doesn't mean the tag is correct.

Turbo is still on the cards, tho not for around a year or so. It will receive all the turbo gear I had in store + what parts get upgraded on My Calais. And while the weather was mint yesterday, We.. I gave it a decent scrub and a nice hand polish then took some pics before the sun went down. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Umm.......this reminds me of my pos Calais for one very awful reason: the front bar. Please help it.

Your an ass lol, read above, the front bar is temporary. She has a brand new front bar for it, but no point in putting it on til its painted a long with the door moulds and rear bar. Cheers.
