28-05-08, 17:27 GMT+10#82 ^^And put on shows for people to make it seem like you have massive power haha.
My N/A will never chirp 3rd. Although it does beat almost any V6, inline 6, manual, auto Falcon or Commodore. I'm still yet to know how or why this is because from what I've gathered its not supposed to happen in an N/A VL.
The only drag I've lost is with my mates ED 5spd with CAI/extractors. I reckon if I wacked a CAI on mine I'd beat him. He is only just pulling away from me a bees d1ck difference.

28-05-08, 17:30 GMT+10#83 Mates ED Futura bloody moves for what it is, 4.0L SOHC 5spd manual 3.08 diff gears, lightened flywheel and HD clutch. Oh CAI, exhaust, and a few other little things, it would munch the vl up for lunch any day of the week. Flys along, hehe but leaves nice little fuel angles on the ground when given a boot full.

One thing is they are heavy on fuel. They feel so much faster then an RB30, but really there not that much. As I said my mate can only just smidge past me from a standstill. He must have a HD clutch as well because his clutch is like pushing weights with your leg.
I've noticed they don't rev nearly as much either. 5K seems to be the end. It's the torque they have which gives you that real punchy, faster feeling.
BTW - 3.08 gears? Was it a converted manual? My mates has the 3.27 gears.

Yeah think they're 3.08 thats what he said anyways haha, yeah converted 5spd. Think its a T5 sound about right?
Yeah thats one thing that really lets me down about the n/a actually its quick enough to get me in trouble lol but it certainly doesnt push you back in your seat like some of the larger engines. Price you pay i guess.

seriously?like to build up or as a daily?coz if you would take a RB30 over a ecotech in a daily ur seriously selling urself short, ecotechs are smooth, economical and exreamly reliable engins with a lifespan of around 500 000 ks when treated normaly,rb30s were great for there time but lets face it,anyone who drives a vl daily is ususly someone who has an unnatrual love for em that clouds there judgement when more practical cars were available.........or a bogan.

If his car could spin 5th then i'd love to see that, 1:1 drive IMPOSSIBLE. But spinning 1st, 2nd and chirping 3rd definatly possible with different diff ratio's.
*skips majority of thread*
Sorry mate, but 5th gear is not 1:1. Its an overdrive, so more like 0.8:1.
This thread sucks.
