Thanks mate. Yeah running stock internals. People have proved time and time again that the RB30 donk can take quite a thrashing so ill see how it goes. Everyone has been saying "its all in the tune" lol so ill be putting this theory to the test soon.
Just so you all know my car is with Stef(STOWLN) getting the alternator upgraded to a higher amp rating because it failed on me last week so as soon as i get it back it will be going to jpc to get everything fitted + ecu and tune. Cant wait .

....Update.... Well, not really more of a set back
Anyways to put a long story short i was just about to send my vlt to JPC untill i smashed my daily yesterday at highpoint... funny thing was i didnt hit any cars and i wasnt being stupid. I shaved one of those massive support poles in the underground car park while reverse parking and did alot of damage to the drivers side rear quarter panel. Dont know what went through my head at the time. I have reversed parked in the tightest of spacers hundreds of times. Mates have been giving me heaps of **** for it haha. Ohh well **** happens. I forgot to take a pic of it but its already at my coaches shop going in for a repair and a full respray just on the outside as door jams ect are still in very good nick. Colours will be the same, bumpers and moulds will be asteroid silver and body will be mullbery as per factory. the rust around the front windscreen will be removed and all badges taken off. Should look good with the freshly painted ceptors that i have waiting to go on.
I was planning to respray it later on down the track but it ends up cheaper if i do it now when the damage is getting repaired. The VLT will go on hold again

Well guys got the daily resprayed in factory colours and also put some ceptors with chrome trims and centre caps on. Car looks really clean now. I actually enjoy driving it now because it looks respectable on the outside. Paint isnt show room finish but it definatley looks better than it was. Front bar had a piece of the grill broken so that same piece was broken on the other side for an even look. I was thinking of getting a whole new bar but i thought "fark it" its gonna get stone chips and rocks on it as soon as i drive on the freeway and to work. With the bigger wheels on, the car sits even higher than it did before, so i purchased a set of shortened KYB shocks, king spring super lows all round and an adjustable panhard rod which will get fitted on saturday. I dont have any other plans for the daily, i might just get a half decent sound system in it and that will be it, i just want to keep it clean.
In the mean time i resprayed the rocker cover again on the VLT and bought a exhaust manifold heat shield from <NICK> off the for sale thread. The heat shield was painted using high temp gloss black paint. As soon as i turned the car on and let the paint bake, it bubbled up a little because of the **** preperation i did before painting. I should have bought the heat shield as soon as i dropped the turbo motor in as the paint on the bonnet has bubbled up. That will have to get resprayed along with the front bar and nose cone later on. Heres some pics:
Rocker cover and heat shield
And this is how they sit at home.

Thanks mate. I drive the VLT whenever its a nice sunny day lol. The only time it ever sees water is when im washing it. Not only that, the VLT has a spool in it now and im always tempted to give it a bit when i drive it so its not the best idea for me to drive it in the rain haha.

Hey peoples, car is currently at JPC getting everything fitted + surge tank and Vipec V44 based plug in ecu. I convinced myself to go for a decent ecu as it is a vital part of the car plus mark preferes to tune them anyways. Car has been there for almost 2 weeks so cant be far away now. On friday they said all it needed was a tune so might get it back this week we'll wait and see. They gave the car a check over and found that one of the hoses on the steering rack was leaking fluid and they also found a crack in the watchlink thing that holds the panhard rod, so that got welded up. Not sure how much power the car will make but im just hanging to get it back so i can drive it!!

.....Update.....
Got the car back from JPC last week. Car made 258rwkw on a safe tune. I was told it made closer to 280rwkw but they dropped everything back down because i have a standard motor. Not sure how much boost is running through the turbo as i didnt get to speak to mark when i picked it up. The most ive seen it go upto is 15psi on the boost gauge in 3rd gear. The car runs so much better with the new ECU, idles much smoother drives smoother not to mention it has way more torque than it did before. Hitting boost in second is spastic the car is all over the joint. 3rd gear gives an awesome throw back from 80-130kph, i didnt even bother using 4th otherwise im way over the speed limit lol. Very happy with how the car goes exept for two small or rather large things.... On saturday my diff started to make some whining noises while cruising on the freeway and it became more intense as i thrashed the car more. Sounds like my pinion and gears and **** have had enough. Second thing was that i parked the car up on saturday then started it on sunday arvo but it was like the clutch was non existent. It wouldnt go into gear at all so im guessing its a hydraulic related issue. When the car is turned off it just slips into gear. Either way im not going to drive the car the way it is ill just make things worse, so the car is going to get looked at tomorrow morning. Ill throw some pics up when i get the chance. Heres the dyno sheet....

lookin good man and decent power by the sounds of it for the boost its running. by the sounds of it your clutch master or slave cylinder has shat it self, my master shat it self when i first got the car, not a un common thing to happen if its still orig, also should be a fairly cheap fix, think my master cost me $90 or close to it. spewin about the diff though. man this makes me want to go all out on mine, but it already owes me so much money lol

yeah pumba i was thinking the same thing bout the clutch. Diff is absolutely ****ed and will definately need a rebuild. Not sure whether to go 31 spline axles or not. Fark man the list just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I would have had a deposit for a house by now if it wasnt for this car ha ha.

Pictures as i promised. Nothing has changed much physically on the car.
No more AFM or O2 sensor
Fuel rail and injectors
Sard fuel regulator
Cat was restricting the car so a 3" highflow was fitted.
Car is at Gtech performance now getting a new double plate textralia clutch as i was told it is ****ed. Straight after that car will go to preston autos and diffs to get the diff checked out. Farken hell i only had the car back for a day and everything just snapped lol, i just want to drive the bloody thing.

....Update....
Finally got my car back last week. Car now has a Fully rebuilt diff with new housing, diff gears, seals and control arms ect. No more whining noises anymore . Also have a double plate textralia clutch. Very happy with the clutch, pedal feel is exactly the same as standard except it has way more clamping force. Im still bedding in the clutch have only done about 100ks or so in it. On another note the clutch is noisy. When i push the clutch pedal in there is a floating plate and it makes a rattling/grinding noise lol which is normal for multi plate clutches. But other than that its farkin awesome. Car has new plates also bought them a few months ago, it will now be known as JETRB-6.
Was on the Mickelham rd freeway entrance ramp yesterday, i have been babying the car because of the new clutch so i thought ill test it out. I punched it in 3rd took off then all of the sudden the car turns off and im like "WTF?". Anyways i pulled over on the tulla popped the bonnet, looked under the car checked and saw that everything looked ok. Turned the key to try and start the car again, it was turning over but it just wouldnt start. Closed all the windows listening to hear the fuel pump prime but it wasnt. Checked the fuse box and saw that the fuel pump fuse had blown. All my mates where unavailable and the old lady was at work so no one could bring me a fuse lol. Called RACV and asked if they could send a mechanic with a fuse for me but they said all mechanics would be ages so they sent a tow truck down and i got it sent back home. Changed the fuse and everything was fine lol. Ill never drive my car without spare fuses in the centre console ever again, lesson well learnt lol would have saved me 2hrs of ****ing around haha

Yeah its funny cos nothing bad happened lol. That was a dangerous place to leave the car but i had no choise. Its where the work trucks enter to get to the work site lol. Trucks had to slow down traffic just to get in missing my car by only a few inches. I just wanted to get it out of there before someone side swiped me lol.

....Update....
Car started to run like **** on cold starts on really cold days. Everything seemed fine when the car was warm so took it back to jpc and they fixed the problem. Turned out the air idle control sensor was dirty so that was cleaned. Also car was chucked on the dyno to fix up the cold start as it was tuned in spring last year when it was 20 degrees so cold starts are much better in this freezing weather. While it was there the muffler was removed from the exhaust and replaced with a straight pipe so now the exhaust only has a cat in it and its farkin loud on boost . A VE front brake upgrade kit was also fitted which consisted of VE twin piston calipers, 322mm slotted discs and adapter hubs to suit. Extremely happy with brakes as the car pulls up 100 times better, cant believe i was driving around with standard vlt brakes lol. Car feels much safer now with the added braking power.
