John, A few months ago I went to Calder to race my dads WRX for him and I must say the security guards are a pack of a*s holes. Eg. On one of my runs i got the time slip and pulled up about 100metres passed the area where you get the timeslips and waiting for my old man to come back to the car. He was like 50 metres away and I needed some tools to quickly put one of the indicaters on that cover the intake because we had to drive back to Ballarat and it was getting dark and the torch **** itself. A security guard come over and basically abused the crap out of us and almost thought he was going to have a crack. I told him I would only need 5 minutes to put light on and the number plate and i would go. He went farken bezerko. Its not like I was revving the **** out of it or doing anything dangerous. I can understand your feeling but I wouldnt let them ruin anything for you. Stay away from Calder for a bit and keep Pannic in the workshop so you dont have to sell it or goto Heathcote so you can still have the enjoyment of racing the yellow beast. Rob.

honestly man im with everyone else here, dont give up you have come so fare and done so well to throw it all away over a bunch of scummy kents and personaly iv always loved vl's but it was your vl PANNIC that really got me into the drag scene and im sure once your new vl comes out you will set some records and show a lot of people what you can do

Well i was there the other night at calder and stayed to then end. All i will say is that official is a smart arse and seems to treat SOME people like they are retards. It's a shame your contemplating giving up the drag racing side but i reckon if calder just got rid of that 1 bloke none of this would have happend. He was giving some people a hard time at the pro street meeting last weekend for doing nothing BUT if he knows you he act's completely different and you can do what ya want.

Hey John, You know you wont quit,maybe you should get some well deserved rest.If you quit drag racing then you might as well go back to doing RWC's,but the cars you do the RWC's dont come factory with GT45's Also as everybody has commented,just go to Heathcote and race there as you know your always welcome So,again,think about it and think about it this way,if you give up drag racing then the other VL workshops wont have you as a threat anymore,and you even know you wont be able to handle that idea....... its realy sad to see people bitching if someone is using nos etc etc. those people are just jealous. and cant handle that they are slower. in the sport well in fact in an motorsport there is always posers and there is people who just shut their mouth and have fun in what they are doing . you were one of them congrats on all your acheivements champ. as long as you dont shut your shop im happy my car needs to head your way Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It would be a shame to not want to persist with Drag Racing your own car's. The only legitimate reason to not continue would be a family based decision, so don't let anything else sway you. At the end of the day, doing what's right by yourself is what need's to be done, but whether you like to admit it or not, a performance based workshop campaigning their own car's is the best form of advertising, so a decision like this may have an effect on business.

This is a sad day in the VL Drag Racing Scene. I hope your business and your family continue to prosper from the efforts you have put into your business, your cars, and your customers cars. Goodluck with the future John.

OMG john thats a big call but good luck with everything my dad used to race with you at calder and **** and he used to love racing your torana, n when i told him he was stunned because he knows how much you loved racing.... on the other hand he knows how much calder sucks and bob jane is a tight ass for money, hes hated him ever since he stopped the drag nationals.. but all the best from me and my dad!

sad to see, remember watching pannic over here in adelaide a few years back. I wish we had the luxury of boycotting 1 track to go to another, if we wanna race we have to go over to Melbourne!

This is a big shock to me, and i understand why this has come to this. as John said about the time he waited for 40 odd minutes for a run and then just to get turned back is just crap , 95% off the people there love to come and see johns handy work in real life, which is why i travelled all the way from CANBERRA to see caushn run its first 8.9. I travelled again on Friday to watch it race again and this same @#%& happened again , **** me what are these under paid fat ****s doing, and y only to caushn???????? . Well **** them cause John, the shop, and the owners of these cars work ****n hard just to be kicked it the balls and the last minute. Its a real pitty when you get a a few d ick bags thinking they jesus C. Ive never been to Calder, is it also run by Bob Jane? I can honestly say that the officials workn at willowbank are a great bunch of guys, they respect all classes of racing cos they know the time and effort that goes into developing a drag car. John I wouldnt let these wanks get to you mate, give em the finger and use another venue. I think building quick cars is one thing, but also being down to earth and decent person is another, and I applaude you for that.
