Yeah mate, HID's have Xenon in them, as well as a bunch of other stuff. The Globes and Ballasts that go in the honda's and whatnot with projector headlights.

there a xenon kit sold with ballasts etc heres an eg. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/XENON-HID-CON...QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/XENON-HID-CONVERSION-NEW-BALLAST-KIT-H4-6000k_W0QQitemZ230263861221QQihZ013QQcategoryZ33710QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) word is there actually illegal hence the price hike if you attempt to buy them off someone here in oz yet there proven lasting 10 times longer then your normal h4 globe - go figure edit: carefull when your buying a kit to make sure there hi AND low beam the single low/hi kits are alot cheaper Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Is there any reason why they're illegal? Are they just too bright? Laws might be different here in NZ but I dunno.

OK. haha They are not illegal, just illegal in car without projector head lights. The projector headlights focus the massive amount of light into a beam, unlike what normal headlights do (which is spray light everywhere) as you can see. And you would be pretty much right up to 6000k for a VL. Personally you wouldn't want to go any brighter otherwise there would be no way of avoiding police. I haven't been bothered in the month I've had mine. They are piss easy to install. Get an H4 kit and it plugs right into the standard loom + a positive and negative wire for the ballasts. And yes the spoiler and the Calais bootstrip fit perfectly together which is why i want it. Hahaha Brad i would take em but I'm a Tint Man not a Venetian Man. I think it would look silly with tint on mine. That ebay kit is ridiculously cheap. I would heavily question the quality of that... but with mine i don't even need high beams they are just so good Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
