03-03-06, 08:38 GMT+10#81 doesnt cost much to make a 202 run a 13sec pass when the cars are so light and got so much power, cam heads throttle body.. etc

And considering that i have more power now and a better setup compared to back then i dont think it would be impossible to break into the low-high 14sec barrier (in street trim).
Any one in vic wanna go for a cruise with me and a couple of mates let me know.
Btw: Were you on speedweek some time ago
Im just finding it hard to comprehend that someone with 110rwkw's ran a 15.1 @ 95mph in the heat of the day Low 90 mph is more believable
With the current rwkw's your qouting (135), you should easily run a mid 14sec. pass at around 92-94mph. The only way to know this is to run the car down the quarter
And yes I was on speedweek a few weeks ago for the 2005 Jamboree Ran 14.1-14.2 @ 94-95mph all day

i should change my TB back to the stock VL TB as i then had 110rwkw, but now after changing it to the XF one i definetly have at least gained 10-15rwkw from that.

12-03-06, 20:07 GMT+10#85 clear a few things up. total cost in getting the vl to 14.3's was around 2500. engines has 340k on the clock and the bottom end hasnt been touched. the porting was minor, just a tidy up. twin throttles where home grown. cam is a surecam unit with a chip torque custom tune. still using a mf5 gearbox with a rpm heavy duty clutch. ran a 3.45 4 pinion lsd for ages with 225 15's, even tried 195 14's before going to a 4.11 spool and back to 205 15's. best night it ran 5 14.3's in a row, with 60ft times 1.9-2.0. not to shabby. i think it was a good budget racer, you could drive it all week, turn up at the track, throw some old tires on and thrash it, put the good tires back on and drive home.

12-03-06, 20:09 GMT+10#86 yea and the twin throttles over a standard throttle body gave an extra 1kw. but the torque rose abit

what was the cam spec, was it one of them cams the needed to grind away some parts of the head to fit?

I aint buyin into who's lyin about times & mph cos no 1's posted any official time slips!
Just remember rearwheel hp or kw isnt always a good judge of quater mile performance!
My bro had 258rwhp in 350chev hg monaro and ran 11.9's, same day another bloke posted 283rwhp with 351 clevo xd and ran 12.5's, since then have seen 330rwhp hq tonner run consistent 12.2's, and i posted 275rwhp with 5l 308hq to run 12.1's, and another mate with xactly same hp as me run 11.3's in xd falc!

14-03-06, 17:10 GMT+10#94 LOL all well and good to be different - but when it's so much easier just to turbo it and run the times for cheaper.. N/A doesn't make much sense in my opinion

14-03-06, 20:13 GMT+10#98 Simple reasion many people try and get decent performance from an N/a is the difference in insurance paid annually for drivers under 25. Ive been laughed at when i asked for a quote for under 25 and modifyed turbo.
Also n/a engines are more than capible of running good times, japan has proven this more than once, just not with the rb30

15-03-06, 10:09 GMT+10#100 Why do people make out the RB30E as if its the worst engine in the world to modify?
