Kaaz Diff (http://www.efihardware.com/products/c199/Holden__KAAZ-limited-slip-differentials)<link vn-vz - $1295, guessing vl's would be about the same.

I would have loved to get a Detroit locker but when I built my diff a year ago I couldn't come across one for the Borg. So I had to settle for LSD. But I would go a Detroit anyday. And they sound tuff as when u- turning, it's funny when ppl look at your car like it's got something wrong with it just cos they don't know what it is!

VLHERO had a video either in this thread or another of locket installed, and driving around in circles. He also had another one showing him rotating the wheel by hand, which shocked the ratchet action, and the noise it made. Turned a lot of people off.

as has ben mentioned, it all comes down to the tyres and suspension. i have one in my falcon as a daily and it skips around corners, but its not the end of the world lol

i have one about to put into my car, if i dont like it after a while ill get an lsd. Im put off LSD's because had a mate get a diff built for his car, standard 5l falcon, built diff with gears, within 3 months its open wheeling again, and there wasnt alot of burnouts either

yer i get axel trap under a launch or when the wheels are about/trying to spin. i tryed new shocks that has not helped. i am about to do all my bushes but that will be on a full spool 31spline diff so its differnt again. i was sorta keen for a kazz lsd but i spose that can still **** up where as full spool and 31 spline should be allright and not brreak!

I drove mine to work everyday for almost a year, learnt every corner that the car would make heaps of noise on (different road surfaces etc) and no matter how you hit the corner you couldnt avoid the noise. God damn minispools are fun. I will never thrash an open wheel diff again.

i spoke to a diff place today and they recommended against getting a detroit locker. the guy said not many people are happy with it, since its nature is to lock only when revs are applied it catches people off gaurd, and it can be dangerous changing lanes like on the freeway etc, can cause it to kick out. im assuming he is talking about slow speed, but i was wondering how relevent it would be for high speed? when going flat out you clutch in to change gear, the diff shouldnt disengage straight away should it? since you'd expect it to still be turning for a few seconds? or does it disengage the lock as soon as the clutch goes in, this could be dangerous (cant find answers) i understand the mechanics of it though. anyway diff place recomended either get a kaaz or get a true-trac... currently researching what a true-trac is. am still kinda thinking **** that, ill just stick with a spool and when this one gets tired get a fullspool with 31 splines etc.

weather it be a locker or lsd if its wet and you floor it its ganna spin and kick out my last to vls have had lockers sure going around corners can be a pain in the but some times but i have never had any isues and both of mine have coped hidings on the track yet a few of my mates that have argued the minni spool vs lsd case have had to replace there diffs in there commys or get them rebuilt coz the start open wheeling.my advice get a minni spool if you dont like the feel of it then go lsd but i recon spools are tougher and can take a better thrashing Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

If you can afford an upmarket lsd go for it, they are two different boats one costs bugger all instaled & one costs your first childs little toe in comparison. If you want to hit a corner fast an lsd would get through it quicker & tighter then a spool because the resistance is always going to be there with a spool.

My mate has one in his VE, no noise around corners, no matter how tight. Very predictable and supposedly maintenance free, we'll see about that as its only been in the car a little while, but far superior to the clutch style diffs. http://www.harrop.com.au/root_folder..._truetrac.html (http://www.harrop.com.au/root_folder/driveline_components/detroit_truetrac.html)

The problem with LSD is they wear out, clutch, cone whatever they eventually wear out even KAAZ units. I personally didn't like the KAAZ as it could skip like and bang just like a minispool. Minispools/Fullspools have their place, they work but do give the rear end a bit fo a flogging and can be ****ty as a daily thing. If you have plenty of coin investigate the Eaton/Harrop Tru-Track. They are technically a mechanical torque biasing LSD. All gears so they don't wear out. 100% predictable. IE wanna do nuts on the front right wheel it will, flick turns, j turns whatever. Get half way through a corner and decided you want to tokyo drift its just a side step of the clutch away. Personally I like the ability to drive through carparks car washes etc and everything seems normal until you want to be naughty. If you want I can talk to my supplier and get a price for the LSD centre to suit the borgy diff. 31/35-spline is custom but can also be done.
