Dumbest thing I ever did was burning the back of my neck while trying to fix a mates VL. Leaned over to see if the starter motor was hooked up correctly and my necklace touched the positive terminal and earthed out. Instant 500 degrees. Stood up in shock with my skin burning and within an instant my reflex was to rip the necklace off. Unfortunantly the necklace was quite thick so pulling on it made the burns worse but I couldn't brake it off. Still have a scar on the back of my neck and that happened about five years ago...

My old man's told me about the time he forgot to put the sump plug back in before pouring the new oil in. He realised what was going on when he was standing in a whole lot of oil Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

a guy i know was set to go on a road trip so he decided to do check his water and oil, filled the radiator with water, that was ok, then spent god knows how many hours pouring oil in to his car via the dip stick hole, till it was "full", calls me the next day, "mate my car's not going right",

Couldn't undo a bolt down on the inlet side, old mate *I put this bolt before my health comes in* And gets the bolt, it lets go with a jolt. Busts his knuckles on the engine and with the sudden force lifts his head, the bonnet falls, cracks him in the head and all I can do is say.. Did you get the bolt?

not something that happened whilst working on a car - but the run away VL made me remeber this time when i got off the bus at the local shoppingcentre. I was walking to my car where i saw this really nice supra idling.. i had a nice look at it when an old man sed "its been on since 9am and now its 3pm, what idiot did this". i started laughing, little did i know the owner was behind me. the look on his face was PRICELESS... his life looked shattered. my guess is the turbo timer never turned off LOL - poor guy
