Yeah I left it up to my old panel beater, should have known better, theres apparently a guy in town with the right tools to do it now, fingers crossed or else I'm definately spewing.
I'm calling around like crazy to find someone that will roll my guards with the nylon tool.
Hood linings just about sorted, I'm trying to get the bloke to come out on site and do that for me rather then me having to pay another 80 bucks for towing fees.
Panel beaters a slack mofo, I'm not bothering to call him today. I'll give him another day or so.
I've done a full loop around the town again, I think its a case of who you know in this town.
Out of about 15 people I found 1 roller, thats broken. I'm screwed, hoping the tyres don't scrub, I'll drop down to 235's if i have too.. FARK
Yep had that for months now, I've gotta make a phone call when my cars getting closer and pick it up, its getting polished. Same with my n/a runners when I finally drop them off to the guy.
I need a few more rubbers once I've got this one sorted, need to get the ones that line the window on the door trim. That'll be all I need then I think, I better not have any farken wind noise thats for sure haha.
I'm aiming for the space shuttle type sounding car. Underbonnet insulation, I've got the heavy bitumen deadening liner under the carpet, thick carpet, new rubbers. I'm hoping its relatively quiet in the cabin.
My polishing will be done tuesday maybe- so I'll look at piecing the engine together, no hurry really as its not getting done til interior and most of my wirings organised...
Frustration is awesome.
Car, still at the panel beaters.. I think today will be my 100th visit in 4 weeks.
I'm hoping for next thursday. I still have to confirm with him on Monday, but the next two weeks I'm not going to be able to run around as much as I can now.
Bax - taking the time to do all those extra things like the sound proofing, make the car soooo much more enjoyable once your finished, it gives that feel as well that it actually is like a new car again, one that you've created
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
haha I'm laughing my ass off, I rang the panel beater and he said they scraped the old one out and can make do with some of the spare rubber I've given him.
But i priced some new stuff anyone, rear left was the worst, and its 52.95
rear right was okay, but its only 49 dollars.
hilarious stuff... oh well. at least they're putting sh*t together.
I'm hoping he's made progress and started putting my door handles on. And taillights, skirts etc.
*apparently* my old panel beater has lost a sh*tload of parts
new panel beater is telling me heaps of stuff is missing, isn't putting my headlights in because the *front end* is modified.
what the ****? its got a calais front, same lights you asshole.
