solex locks are a waste of time, just get your existing locks re-combinated at any locksmith, this will stop just any vl key from opening them. costs less than new solex locks and i belive they are better and harder to get into

take the wheels off the thing every night.. or least 1/2 of them and get a formula 1 steering wheel and yank it off.. kind hard to get it anywhere without tyres and/or steering.. better yet, sleep in the ****er! sumone tried to steal my cousins vn ss 2 years ago at the nats and they busted them and got sum good payback then my cousin slept in it the rest of the time, move ur rooms into ur garage or into ur car.. its good enuff to cruise why not live in it since we all spend enuff time cleaning/taking care of/fixing it etc. etc.

No matter what residence the car is left at - I now take a half hour out of my day to leave it on blocks and take the wheels off. So if anytheives do find it they can spend another half hour fitting wheels to it... By that time I should be there taking a few nice happy snaps of them "working" to give to local police station. reverse psychology wouldn't work. It's a car, if it's unlocked, it will be stolen. The car itself is valuable.

Yeah your spot on there mate... solex locks are Trash. Shaved locks are an excellent idea. the flat battery thing is a bit of a turn off i agree but if you leave the boot lock in (kos it's hidden behind, and slightly protected by the calais garnish anyway) and relocate your battery to the boot then the car is much more secure and in an emergency you can just jump start it from there... Kill switches can't be relied on either because anybody who knows what theyre doing will have a power probe anyway then they'll just bypass the whole lot. The only way to have a properly effective set of kill switches is to rig up relays on 4 or 5 of the main wires of your actual ECU wire harness, Mount the relays in the fuse box so they look stock and hook them to an accessory on your alarm. Even if they do trace it they dont have the remote Oh and those of you who are really obcessive about this. wrap something strong around the exposed wiring that enters your doors. A lot of people overlook this. With the right tools a clever thief could wind down a window or unlock all the doors with these wires... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

honestly guys, i think were getting a bit excessive, i have an alarm with 3 point imobliser, after mods to the car i got it insured with Shannon's, all up the car owes me $7k and it is insured with Shannon's for $16K... yes i pay a higher rate but in the event that my Vl does get nicked, i am extremely well compensated... and lets face it Vl's do get pinched... i think its worth it... for the extra $37 i pay a week to have the car insured for so much i believe its worth it... yes they went through all my finance records to see if i was a posible fraudster but somehow i past with flying colours !!! fark knows how that works! !! !

Another way around that is to rig up a lead from the +/- terminals with some kind of female connector that is accessable from the outside of the car. You then make up a lead (or 3?) that can be hooked up to a battery and plugged in to enable jump-starting/unlocking in the event of a flat battery Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Move to the country, I live near bathurst and car theft here is like condoms in africa. I had my Vt SS window smashed 1 night. And my tacho's stolen from the bonnet of my VL, thats it. And thats cos they were parked at the pub over-night.

I'm not condoning theft in any way but if you had a Tacho on your bonnet, you deserve it. It had to be said....sorry.
