Woot woot, intake manifold, head porting, 100 shot and a cam should be in soon. Then Ill work out the box and diff as funds permit. Should be fun though. And then Ill just leave her as that.. not looking for anythin super sonic speed. Prolly get a cam to rev to about 5500 or 6000. Dont want to stress the engine too much. Get an extra fuel pump for the spray and stuff. Maybe upgrade my system if it needs it. What sought of ignition system does the VL run standard? I havent seen my car in almost 4 months and cant memba (damn panel beaters!).

I got a VL V8 aswell. Chuck a Holley 600, 650, or 670 on it. I did that and was happy with what i got out of it. The only problem is that the manifold was shaped for the rochester. didn't affect it tho, adapter plate. Dont go to 3 or 4 inch piping cos its overkill. 2.5 is perfect for backpressure. Spend a bit of money on shift kit and mini spool if no LSD. The more you do it up tho the less reliable itl be. Noone i know does the daily driver up to be a street car.

1st question is why are you so keen to run n2o? if you dont want to spend much cash nos isnt the way id be going. ill just tell you now the easiest way (and maybe even cheapest) to get your vl moving a bit quicker would be forced induction, BUT we all know thats cheating! id suggest first thing you look at doing is a 286 or 304 crane cam along with some vn heads, next thing id be doing is getting your compression ratio up to about 10.5:1 (maybe even 11:1 is you decided to go the crane 304 cam) through headwork and possible some hypereutectic flat tops. next step would be a proper manifold and carb, its important not to skimp on costs here. is suggest some type of low rise dual plane (if you dont wanna spend alot) and a 650-750cfm carb. provided your exhaust/gearbox (stg2 shiftkit,2800-3000stall)/diff (lsd is better but more expensive or minispool costs nothing but is illegal and a handfull in the wet if your not carefull) is up to the task this sort of motor will achieve the results you looking for(or atleast come very close). if it isnt you'll need to looking at things like fuel pump, your ignition, oiling systems etc. also id recomend 3.45-3.7s for your car, idk how much long distance driving you do but if dont do too much definatly go the 3.7s hope this helped give you a basic idea of the sort of pats you should look @ buying. ps. obviously i havent covered everything and am not saying with those parts alone you'll get there, but they're what you'll be needing to do it (if that makes sense) danny
