12-12-04, 13:40 GMT+10#82 just to heolp settle arguments about the differnence with n/a manuals and autos, manuals would get roughly and extra 10kw to the wheels, although that is probably from dropping the clutch early, but it also has a really high 1st gear compared to the auto, that makes it get to the revs much quicker. Off the line the auto takes way too long to gain sum decnet revs, after that they go pretty well but off the line they're hopeless.
but in defence of the n/a auto, when stock it'll beat a vn series 2, vp, vr, and will beat a vs up to 100 for sure, but once you pass 100 the stock n/a vl has nothing left
and the reason anyone would beat a 253 is cause of the ~3.0 diff ratio they got, it makes the car really slow on acceleration but is needed for high way fuel consumption cause they only got a 3spd as stock

12-12-04, 14:18 GMT+10#83 OK everyone settle down, its all got to do with weight ratio's and flyweel to ground differences. Different diff ratio's different boxes, different weights of cars. Depends whether or not the engine has just beenm broken in after a full rebuild or if its had a hard life and after 300000 kms is getting a bit tired. Its got to do with how well your car is tuned properly or if the timings out. What fuel you use, how good your box transfers power and if it has just been rebuilt or is tired.
Alot of things come into account when comparing cars. Not just "oh i beat a 253 tunner in my stocko n/a Vl rb30e.". That ol tunner has different ratio's and probably has an old red 253 thats done a mill kms. Its very hard to compare diff class of cars because they are all diff. So every1 i say again, you have to take alot into account.

12-12-04, 14:26 GMT+10#85 and one more thing, i wouldn't go mocking autos, just think of the free hand youve got when you have a fvucken hot girl sitting in the passenger seat :-) i had a 5 speed berlina and changed it to a tricked up auto, and its beaten a few manuals by a mile. Plus with a few small engine mods as well..

15-12-04, 17:29 GMT+10#86 N/A Vls in good condition arent that bad. My friends old VL was a fully rebuilt RB30 5 speed with pod and exhaust and we were only beaten by a small number of cars. The best times were a 350z, VS 5ltr ute and a lexus soarer. If they've got 300,000+ km on the clock then what would you expect...

16-12-04, 17:24 GMT+10#100 Ok guys I have just realised something
My VL has pretth damm good acceleration with no full throttle but when im sitting on 90Ks in a 90 zone everyone just seems to overtake me.
I agree with the whole conditioning thing in this thread hell I could drag a Pulsar SSS turbo and whip its ass then I could drag a Mirage turbo and get slaughtered but I dont waste my time dragging anyone cause its fairly pointless I get people wanting to darg me all the time I just let em go just so they make themselves look like idiots seriously why bother it doesnt prove anything unless its on a drag strip.
