On another note, I got this centre which had a spool in it and upon disassembly found that the inside looks like this Are the grooves around the hole anything to worry about? Keep in mind I will be running an auto-locker which uses dog teeth in this centre so no side gear/spider gear mesh to worry about. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The diff spreader works by pulling the axle tubes forward. Attach the chain to the axle studs, put a bottle jack against the diff yoke and run the chain across the jack. Start jacking and the chain will pull the ends of the axle tubes forward hence spreading the area where the centre sits. And here's some info on the auto-locker. http://www.4wdsystems.com.au/html/lokka.htm

the diff 'spreader' pulls the axel tubes back alil to flex the housing open alil bit to allow the center to come out *edit - too fast for me VLHERO :P Steve Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yep, they have been around for years. The old design was known for being sh*t, and was the only side gear driven design in their range. It has now been redesigned and re-released so it is now the same design as for all other models. Testing went ahead 4 weeks ago with nothing but good reports, and from what I was told they gave it an absolute flogging. The first batch were ready 2 weeks ago and were a little noisier than expected, but still drive perfectly fine. Some changes to the machining were being made to the second batch which will be ready this time next week. So with any luck I will be seeing mine at my doorstep next Monday! Oh and $619 posted in case you were wondering.

Locked all the time but unlock when cornering. Lock harder under increased engine torque.

Full spool replaces the entire centre. Can anyone answer my question about the scoring in my carrier?

But who knows what people are using in front of them. Their not made for the borgwarners either. I'll let everyone know how it goes, someones gotta be the first to try something new.

i just got a spool off ebay and now i wantin to install it but i was talking to a diff guy and he said that u need to make sure the heel and toe of the diff gears are all lined but u havent said anything about that is that true and if they are out just by a bit it will stuff up the whole diff and chew the gears away
