i just bought my vl calais for 8 thousand....i am currently looking around sydney for a good shop to put it in...i got about 30 thousand to spend...btw can any1 recommend any turbo mech shops??

2800 on car (12 months ago - bt1 n/a in excelent cond) 440 on gearbox 1050 on exhaust, hi flo cat and extractors 140 on air filter 265 on sports wheel 490 on tyres 150 on tail lights 250 on rear bumpers 750 on painting 362 brake master cylinder 1500 or so on stereo (got pretty much all of it 1/2 price so i cant remember what the value would be) 50 on spark leads 1200 on major service and pink slip 500 on rego ... = $9500 all in the last 12 months......and what do i have now? a ****en clean bt1 n/a that im trying to flog for $4500 with no success! what is going on??

88 vl exec 5000 (dont comment on this price!) replace lifters 150 (second hand + labour) cat back exhaust 270 extractors 240 (second hand + labour) sound system 700 (only parkts, installed myself) k+n panel 130 immobilizer 200 new front end (got hit by a tree in the wet) 3800 if i didnt lose it and hit that tree i'de b very happy with wot i spent as it goes alright for an n/a, i also would have spent that money on an s/c for sure

i have spent over 20 grand on mine in the last 5 months and it still needs about another 10 to get itto where I want it. mods include gt 35/40 upside down extractors rajab plenum 363 s 044 surge tank/catch can 350 kw 4 speed full manualised jatco (keas) 3200 tce stally 3.89 lsd pro gate 45mm w/g bov gauges intercooler 3 inch exhaust crane cams ignition rebuilt motor with forgies vt brake upgrade all new suspesion going for 300 rwk soon to have m48 ecu than new paint and wheels than maybe interior

bought the new calais turbo for $10,500. it will need anotehr $500 or so soon 2 fix up a few problems. previous owner spent a massive ammount on mods (r33 5 speed, t3/t04, lowering, heaps of small stuff it all adds up) no plans to put money into the car 4 anything else but maintenence, cant afford 2 anyway haha. wanna save for something newer and more reliable.

I hav had 2 vlct's, one auto and one manual. the first one i bought for 8k and spent.. $1500 new cooling system,vapour lines $130 CAS $300 towing fee when timing belt snapped $250 new timing belt installed $1800 lowered suspension, rolled guards,new brakes, machined rotors,new power steering hose $1500 18 inch chrome rims (I took these wheels off the car and sold it with original calais wheels) sold that one for the original purchase price as i was in a rush to sell it so I could by my current vlct my second and current vlct is a genuine calais manual turbo which i payed too much for but oh well i wanted it and it had good history and i was sick of the problems my old car gave me.. so far I have spent $70 water pump $15 timing belt $60 oil $140 new taillights $425 intercooler core $30 coolant $40 new boot mould $50 new calais garnish (staff rates at holden) $50 02 sensor just wear and tear items really.. havent spent anything major on it or had any big problems.. next big expense is cooler piping, silicon reducer hose and BOV.. oh and e-boost..

**** me i've spent bulk on my vl.. and its not even on the road yet.. i think its already over 20k

Car $11000 Exhaust $1000 Diff $550 5 Speed convo $1300 Hiflow T3 $1000 Alarm $600 044 Fuel Pump $650 Rebuilt head and copper head gasket $800 Other bits like polishing rims, gauges and **** - $1000 So this car which is pretty much stock owes me nealy 18 grand .... and still needs a paint job ... well it doesn't really i'm just a fussy *******.

New rims and tyres 2.2k New gearbox - Install, Master and Slave etc 1.4k Headunit 900 Subs/ Amps/ Boot Install and Speakers, Wiring etc, about 2k CAS replacement was I got ripped off at 450 or 350 New Headlights and Blinkers was 200 And I'll stop there before I sook. And I have also done all the work myself. Apart from installing microtech and tuning. Another $800 on an external gate and should be in the 12's. That should keep me satisfied for a while.
