01-02-04, 19:50 GMT+10#81 I live right near Sandown two and I've been to every easternats so far. But the fact that I enjoy the Drags side of performance cars not burnouts I would prefer Calder. They have proper timing and you will get 50 goes if you want down the track in test and tune time and Qualifing. At sandown you may get 3-4 passes.

01-02-04, 22:05 GMT+10#84 I have been to calder a few times, the most pass's i have seen anyone get is about 15 on a quiet night, to get 50 pass's there would only be about 10 cars there.

Man we are talking over 3 days. Go to heathcote and if you wanted to you could get 100 passes in a day. Sandown wouldn't be any closer to the city than Calder would it? Lets hope Easternats gets run a little safer this year. Cos all we need is for some one to die then how are people going to react. They will think we are unsafe on the road and on a track.

05-02-04, 19:39 GMT+10#94 Easternats is the biggest jib ever. I'm not paying $150+ to thrash my car. They have thousands of bogans that have no decent cars paying the absurd entry fees to watch us do that so why should the entrants have to pay that much to have a bit of fun. I mean we spend $$$$$$$$$$$$ on our cars and if it wasn't for the entrants there would be no EASTERNATS.
Me personally, I think that the entry fee should be atleast half of what it is. Same goes with calder park. They'd probably find a lot more people would enter if the fee wasn't so much.
Sorry about the b1tch but it's my 2cents and I'm sure there will be other people that will support what I have just said.

05-02-04, 19:57 GMT+10#95 I want to enter because i will enjoy driving the track, doing the odd burnout, the atmosphere etc etc.. not all of us go to thrash the sh!t out of our cars, but to cruise around and check out other cars, meet people blah blah blah. You dont have to thrash your car.. theres isnt a sign at the gate saying "thrash your pride and joy"... i appreciate what your saying.. and i agree that it should be cheaper (only coz im a tight ass lol), but dont generalise and put us all in the "thrash" category.
But then again, $150 for a no laws/rules 3 day event... its a fair price considering anything you do at easternats would have your car impounded and squashed into a cube if you did it on the streets. LOL.
Hope ya change your mind man, the more VLT's the better i think. It'd be sweet to have members from calaisturbo cruising in a big group down the front straight.

I totally agree I got my entry form sent out, It's $170 to enter a car for 3 days and $40 for a single days viewing or $90 for a three day pass.
Last year it was $30 to spectate for one day.
I've got some problems with my capri front steering, bent a rack so I think I'II give it a miss, I'm not paying that much to cruise round a track.
If I want to do burnouts I have my own isolated areas where I do them without attracting other fools or Police.
I remember paying only $100 to enter a car a few years back every year the price goes up don't tell me the insurance are bumping it up more like greedy organisers, many people entrants and spectaters could probably not afford to go, Jon Davison might a have a poor turnout this year, plus alot of people still think it's not going ahead.
It used to be a great local show but the way the prices are going up less people will attend, not everyone has good paying jobs and many have familys and other commitments to pay before a car show.
What's the Calder show charging for that same weekend?
Just curious.
