Yeah in a cortina for sure Phill but then it wouldn't be an XR6. And how can even think about putting 1 into a VL, thats heresy Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I notice on the head it boasts dual vct, although if I remember rightly the vct on that engine has far less play than the vct on the skyline. In saying that, they work well by looks of things on the lil dyno it shows the torque curve is practically flat. I bet that is limited and in reality if chiped would create a huge bolge instead. No wonder its easier to get 350kW out of one. I think that engine would need a larger intercooler? SirGeo: Do you have a higher res pic of car2.jpg , I can't read the specs Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I checked that out too! Did u notice the intercooler is taller that a standard 1, typhoon version?? If u looked closely u would have noticed the top of the cooler was a slightly different colour and the endtanks were modified and crappy welds on the top section. Looks like a standard core was chopped up and added to another standard core... I also hate the use of all that rubber hose Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

TwinVL: Yeah, the intercooler does not give it justice. I am not sure about the weld marks though, I think that the top looks like a blue reflection from somewhere? I would have thought for an engine of that size, an intercooler would have to be two to three times the size as the one in that picture??? I dunno, thats just my opinion. The top of the engine looks cheap! WAY too much plastic... Wonder why they are using soo much plastic, maybe its easier or more cost effective. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

And what does the fact that they come with a bigger turbo have anything to do with it? Would your RB30 have to be stroked to 4 litres and have a twin cam head on too to make it a fair comparison? And BI5HOP, thanks for stealing my avatar ya bum Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

OldGold: Well its true, I cant even afford a car, little own site registration... I have put it into study + computer + other stuff. I think the xr6 engine is cut short a lil, its probably designed to make 300kW. If it did though, who would buy a V8? Same with the RB30, I think at the time the VLT could have been easily modded a lil, then it would crap all over the v8. Esp since people tell me the VL had one of the worst V8's ever. No fun comparing apples to apples anyway...

Thats not a minor upgrade.. I was just saying i would like to see how an RB30det with the same mods stack up?

CalStyle: Yeah the RB30 doesn't have a twin VCT head, GT35R etc... All that stuff nismo have doesn't really make this a minor upgrade! From what I have been told, this nismo kit costs about Eight grand to!
