This would be a great conversion to do to a VL ,albeit being a pushrod motor I think they are equally as good as the RB30 in durability and reliability and they're also pretty good on fuel for a v8 too ! They are all alloy so they're a light engine. My VY , it's strange how much it feels like I'm driving my VL (which I've still got) but it's not the same car , probably because it's also got a very smooth idle as well , well , there is a minor hiccup there , I've gotta change one of the o2 sensors because it gets erratic sometimes (I've replaced the other one already). I was a bit worried about it being tuned for 276 FWKW and the 3.9:1 diff ratio but it only sucks the juice down in the city or when I tow stuff with it (about 14 - 15 L/100 kms) but if I cruise on the highway I get between 8 - 11 L/100 kms , city/highway economy is about 10 - 11 L/100 kms which is pretty much what economy I got out of the RB30DE in the VL. Don't worry about the oil consumption problem , that was only in the VT's and some of the VX's I think, mines done over 238,000 kms and doesn't use any oil. i have a full exhaust to suit a LS series motor in a vl for sale, HPC coated extractors, hooker mufflers, 3" outlaw cats, 3" all the way over the diff, will need a fuel cell as the exhaust finishes in the middle of the car at the back

I know the T400 will bolt to the LS, and can get the converter easy enough - just want to make sure that i don't need a starter coversion kit to put starter on passeneger side of the T400. I suppose i'll find out soon enough Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah it is the same i just dont know how much clearance there is, i know you can bolt up the standard v8 tail shaft straight up to it though.

never used a start conversion kit, waste of money, cheaper to use manual rack or space the rack Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
