15-12-13, 12:29 GMT+10#103 If I had the money I'd take a serious look at it. My Calais wasn't a HSV or that nice but had some work done and was a heap of fun to drive.

05-02-14, 22:07 GMT+10#105 Hi guys, new to this site....I am on a mission to own a SV88. I have just done a full restoration on a 1963 beetle http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/paxto...upe/1038143366 (http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/paxton/cars-vans-utes/1963-volkswagen-beetle-coupe/1038143366)
I have just listed it on gumtree.
once i sell my beetle i will be on the hunt for one of these gems (SV88) I would love to get one that needs some work to save on the cost / buy price but lets see whats out there. anyone know of any for sale....(apart from the one currently on Gumtree for 35K)

06-03-14, 22:24 GMT+10#106 Too rare, rarer than an HDT, you need to keep scanning the classifieds for a resto in need of help, even then you would struggle for originality, how would you go restoring a Walky steering wheel in blue?
Good luck finding an SV88 brick phone, gotta love eighties stuff.

16-03-14, 22:21 GMT+10#108 been repainted, just something about that one i don't like. plus his chasing top $$$ for it. ended on ebay for 21K i bet its still up for sale. he prob won the bid himself. time will tell if the sale so call falls through and it comes up for sale again. will keep looking...either get one that needs work and do it myself or get an original one in smick condition.

24-03-14, 20:30 GMT+10#110 I don't like the non original engine bay chrome, recovered black walky wheel, non color coded rims and lack of boot lip, 35K is creeping towards HDT offerings.
Still a nice VL but would be PMing him offers.

If i could find an original one that need's some work or not - to put it back to day one original condition - no try hard alterations ....that's what i'm after

03-02-15, 12:57 GMT+10#114 hi,
long time no post, we might be selling SV88 #30 soon.
the only original item missing from the car is the OE boot lid spoiler its got an HDT one instead, other original parts to go with it too such as OE steering wheel and stereo.
Has a built 355 with VN heads and TH350 installed, however we still have original motor and trans if you wished to return it to concourse.
No hurry to sell at the moment but get in touch if it sounds like a car you might be interested in. Would like it to go to an enthusiast who knows what it is just like my brother has cared for it the last 10+ years.
cheers

14-12-15, 22:00 GMT+10#115 Hi Boys,
Where do you decipher the build# from. I have had my SV88 since @1995. Spent last 8 years in storage (house reno got in the way). Has plates on firewall (inc HSV plate) - no # on dash though like Group A's had?? Thanks, Bobstar.

15-01-16, 22:56 GMT+10#117 I'm pretty sure I've seen this a couple of times in the last couple of years. Once around The western suburbs and another when it was going into a public car park in the city.
I remember saying to myself, how could you do that lol.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Were any of them manual or were they all automatic?

18-01-16, 22:41 GMT+10#120 Yeah all auto which sucked unfortunately. I have a 5 speed in mine and it's a completely different car. Way more up and go. I still have all the original gear of course.
I have #67
Mate has #93
Both in melb
