Edit ..Marty bet me to it lol Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

we are using 2k primer can sit there UNDER COVER for 2 years then you have to primer it AGAIN. i painted all my bonnet boot doors separate but i only used 2 litres of primer to paint the whole car body. ive got 4 litres of 2K YELLOW and 2 litres of 2K white, i spraying the white over the car first then the yellow, this means that the yellow will cover the white very easily and give it a neon glow to the yellow. my brother does not need to do this as he has 2K WHITE PRIMER, i got my primer for free so i doing it diferent way lol. my honda civic has been primered for about 6 munths now and i driving it around lol hasnt done nothing to it, i even washed it other day to clean it, but i have to primer it again cause of it being out in the weather, but thats no big issue lol.

I'll be interested to see what your car looks like in a few years. Every painter I've talked to says prep, prime then paint straight away for a long lasting finish

There are no issues with the primer(leaving it on for a long time)The problems only happen when you expect a good paint job to stay on the car,As above prep prime paint,The 3 golden P's,No paint shop(a ggod one) will send you home just in a primed car,The final paint will not last!

My old car was painted 8-9 years ago and still looks good... only problem is the guy doesn't know how to drive a car that sits 60mm off the ground Quote: Originally Posted by NZ_bt1vlt for a paint job that costing me nothing, im not complaining, yea 10 years down track ill have to repaint it but who cares? more like 2-3 years...
