any thoughts on running raised compression when including water/meth injection? im not planning to run 30+ psi lol so i figure a good trade off would be higher base compression (9:1) with mild boost (20psi)?? anyone got any info regarding this at all?

pretty soon man.. im still waiting on my kit to arrive, and then once it's in will be goin for a new tune with a bigger cam on my engine.. so will no doubt post the results.. hopefully not too far away.. probably bit more boost than 20psi still. should be good. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You should be able to find a lot about it on supraforums, most of the big 88 and 91mm cars run higher than standard comp now in the 9's As for needing 25-28psi of boost to achieve 400-450rwkw, on pump fuel with a 3540 .82 and 272 cams my mates made 410rwkw on 24psi, so a 1.06 would get you there around 430. Plus the extra power from the extra effiency of spraying water throught he turbo, you might meet you goal. I would step up to a Gt42 But like all things theres 50 different ways to do it, depending on budget/overall plans, building it with room to move if you want more later etc. Theres nothing wrong with your plan, it will work fine, no doubt about that. cheers darren Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

G'day fella's I might be on the Internetz this wednesday night and one of the questions asked will be on water injection... I will give a little technical insight *as best I can* http://www.speedfm.com.au/ "Peter Giljevic from Rice Racing - Peter will be joining us to talk about his car, his workshop, and as a special treat for SpeedFM listeners Peter will be talking about the use of Water Injection in motorsport."

Ok, kit is fitted and operational. After some data logging and analysis i have found that the water injection kit is doing its job. When i ran a 10.5 @ calder, by the end of the track at top of 3rd gear i had inlet air temps of around 64 degrees c. This was on a friday night where the weather was cold and a track temp of around 21 degrees c. I have just come back from heathcote where the track temp was 35.2 degrees c, and at the top of third i had inlet air temps of 50 degrees c. This was during the day and was a hot day. Now my car hasnt been properly tuned as yet to accomadate for the water injection but as you can see already the difference in inlet air temperature is quite susbstancial. So what i will attempt to do is get some readings with and without the water injection to see the power differencess that can be achieved.

If people want to know more in the thread I can divulge a bit of general info but there is a massive scope for power increases, in the RRWEP110 as shipped its a balance to give you something that will work on most anything out of the box (still tweaked for your set up). You can ramp it up allot and unleash some really astounding power levels, and it is a simple turn of the precision valve away I have some cars that run maximum fuel richness and water settings and yield another 30% more power (over what you can do without it!) the only thing that limits it is the ignition system (assuming your other bits like turbocharger and fuel system can deliver the extra power) and in other cases the ability of the engine block to hold the new found power If you want to experiment with this higher level tuning feel free to e-mail me (its part of the price of the kit free life time support to original purchaser) and I can give you some guidance as required. It will allow you to use much higher manifold pressures thus yielding proportional increases in performance. I do allot of this real world testing with my VBOX equipment (listed on my web site) & Nothing shocked me more when I realized I could use 28+psi boost on 98 Octane Optimax fuel on a 35 Deg C day in a **** box rotary of all things lol Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

No but I have run tuned 2JZ for one customer quite a few years ago now, we ran 24 to 26psi (GT42) or so through Supra Auto box and it basically made 370 to 390rwkw region at various autosallon and local dyno comps. Stock block, Stock ECU with a piggyback ECU computer (brand escapes me now, will look it up on my other lap top tomorrow for you) ... key to doing this was high/correct fuel richness (only ran ever pump fuel only). *always kept rev limit below 7000rpm* That block did 130,000km and 10,000km at the higher power level, it had a piston fail after running 30+psi boost (owner inspired tuning effort!), but everything else inside engine looked amazingly good. He then got a better donk made with all high performance stuff in it and I tuned the Autronic SM4 and it ran a high capacity R500 Autronic CDI, wanted to run WI but he opted for 110 race fuel, was running about 34psi or so and it did about 475rwkw again with Auto Anyway my experience of the stock std 2JZ engine is that its combustion chamber works really well and as long as you use enough fuel to cool and keep detonation under control you can make stupid power, with water injection and high capacity ignition I would have no problems of running consistent 2 bar or 30 odd psi into it, so long as revs are kept under 7k rpm you should be fine from what I have seen. The car pulled stupidly good for what it was, IMHO all it had was a piggy back ECU, dirty log type exhaust manifold, FMIC, fuel pump upgrade and injectors, and GT42 with a TO4 rear housing on it.

awesome, the more info i can gather the better! all making me feel better about the goal im chasing. although i am using straight LPG, so tuning wont be quite as simple, which is whats attracting me to water injection.

kyles on the money i would think, My brother did his car a while back and also did the same thing 24psi, got the tune there and then added water and 2 psi and some timing, worked out well. cheers darren
