Who rebuilt the engine. I was talking to Chris at Bathurst Performance in AK about VX GTS 300s (because I might buy one when I sell my VL) and he told me about a guy who bought a GTS 300 cheap with a blown motor and rebuilt it with a big cam and a few other bits and pieces... sounds like your car???

Yip, I know the one. Have you joined the new walkinshaw.net forum?
Yep, Chris at Bathurst Performance did rebuild the engine. He put a new crank, pistons and rods out of a normal LS1 and a big cam and heavy duty double valve springs and it's going mint - it hasn't missed a beat.
Also had the gearbox done at the same time, in Pukekohe and had a couple of issues with the 3rd and 4th syncros but sorted in the end and she's going sweet.
No, I haven't got around to joining the new walky forum yet... been a bit slack, don't spend much time on the computer.
Chris did quite a lot of work on my car, in fact over the past 10 years it's probably spent around 1 year there. It's for sale now though and probably will buy a VX GTS 300 next. Here's the TM auction if you haven't already seen it http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...56&permanent=0 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=147603056&permanent=0)
Yeah that's a fair bit of time spent at Chris's shop. Turned out to be an awesome car though. I bet you will be sad to see it go, but your VX should be cool. Good luck with the sale.
Chris also did the engine in my walky and it puts out 250kw at the engine, he's a handy dude to know, does good work.
Yip I will be sad to see it go, but I just don't drive it these days... I need something that can go over speed bumps

I'll be alone too if I come... no stereo in my car either
It does keep me from doing something stupid and crashing my car like the moron in a WRX that came pretty close to hitting me this afternoon, I wasn't as close as the car he did hit though!
Without music I can get a bit bored.

Speaking of morons in WRX's, On the way home from work tonight i saw about 7 cars on the side of the road. Two 2003ish Wrx's, a BMW on airbags, an old Merc and a few others - at least the first 4 were sporting damage to front and/or rear... all must've gone up the ass of each other... and the worst part, one of my brother's mates said they all knew each other! Gutted! Bloody boy racers giving us a bad name!
